Por pouco a equipe de "Dexter" não precisou entrar em ação na vida real. Jimmy Smits, que interpreta Miguel Prado na série, esfaqueou pra valer o dublê Jeff Chase durante as gravações da terceira temporada, segundo o site Daily Star.
Smits pegou uma faca de verdade, em vez de uma cenográfica, e cravou no peito do colega de cena. O dublê só não se feriu gravemente graças ao plástico que cobria seu peito, onde a facada o atingiu.

"Durante a cena, eu estava imobilizado pelo plástico. Eu vi que Jimmy pegou a faca errada, mas não pude avisá-lo, porque minha boca também estava coberta. Ouvi uns colegas gritando para ele parar, mas foi tarde demais", disse Chase.

Jimmy Smits se desculpou depois do acidente e tudo ficou bem no estúdio. A grande dúvida é: por que havia uma faca não-cenográfica no set de filmagem de um serial killer que realmente esfaqueia suas vítimas?

Consider the following series:

which can also be represented more briefly by the following symbols:

each term is smaller than the previous, and this goes on for as long as you like according to how big you allow n to be. Let's think about what will happen when we let n get big. In fact we want to consider the sum of the series when n is infinite. What will the sum of the series be ?

common sense tells us that the terms added when n is huge will be very tiny, something like 1/1000000, then 1/1000001 etc. So what does the series add up to as n tends to infinity ? Could it eventually settle into a fixed value ? Well common sense may be misleading in this case since in reality the sum to infinity is infinite. In other words you could name any number, say 100 for argument and consequently guarantee that for some n the sum of the series will exceed it.

I don't expect you to take this on trust, of course, but if we can prove it then that should lay all doubt to rest.

lets write the series again but this time divide the terms into groups:

imagine that process going on for ever, with the next group including twice as many members as the last group.

What is the sum of each group ? well look at the first group, 1/2. ok then the next one 1/3 + 1/4. this group adds up to more than a half, and thats all that matters. next group is 1/5 + 1/6 + 1/7 + 1/8 which clearly is more than 4 * 1/8, in other words that group sums to more than a half, as does the next one (which must be more than 8* 1/16).

So we can go on grouping the terms for ever, and each group always adds to more than a half. If we never run out of groups, so that they can get bigger and bigger, then the sum of the series must be greater than one plus infinity times 1/2.

In other words the sum is infinite, since half of infinity is still infinity.

That's a real proof using our mathematical reasoning to establish a truth and make something clear. Once a mathematician (in his or her right mind) sees something demonstrated like that, they must conclude the premise is true. That's the real kick because how many times can you be so certain in ordinary life ? Rarely !

In fact though the series does diverge (that means it sums to infinity) it does grow very slowly. After ten thousand terms the sum is only ~9.8.

But who cares how slow it grows when you can hold forever in the compass of your mind !

Note that however big you make the numbers in the python code above, the computer can never "deduce" the sum to infinity. Marvellous jelly based thinking is still so much more powerful than the computations of hunks of metal ! Still they have their uses.

As Obama fluffs off these associations, ask others how many terrorists and radicals THEY have just "happened" to encounter in their lifetimes and then ask them how it could possibly be a coincidence that Barack Obama is a magnet for them.

Amazingly patient wife of Homer Simpson and was once a good police officer in Springfield.Her most noticeable feature is her blue hair, styled like a big long beehive.Her attitude portrays portrayed as naive but optimistic,and an excellent cook.She puts up with a lot from her family.

Bartholomew "Bart" J. Simpson, the eldest among the children of Homer and Marge Simpson. He is voiced by Nancy Cartwright. Hi is rebellious,disrespectful for authority but with a sharp wit. Although he usually gets into lots of troubles and can be sadistic and selfish, Bart also exhibits many qualities of high integrity. Bart's character proves to be one of the most well-known characters in the history of American television animation.

Lisa Marie Simpson, middle child of Homer and Marge Simpson. Lisa is very intelligent 8 year old girl and became the Student Council President, one of the most intelligent characters on the show. She loves to play saxophone and a truly vegetarian. Her too much intellectual capability can be not-so-right" sometimes" but she is loyal to her family.

Margaret "Maggie" Simpson, the youngest of the five main family members and is often times seen as a baby . But at the early age, she is a keen observer. Aware of her surrounding's. And there are some scenes where she has stepped in to save her family's life.

The Simpson's became part of our childhood and as we grow old we still loved to watch them.Years passed by but still "The Simpson's" is aired world wide.Only minimal physical changes occurs just as what they look and they did decades ago.Awarded many times for best television series and longest running TV show series of all time.

Here are the final 'Groove Notes' for Philippians to help you with your Bible Study this week:

Philippians 4:1-9, 11

v.1 Paul begins by encouraging the folks in Philippi (and us) to 'stay true to the Lord'. Right from the very start of the Groove Series we stated that 'the Groove' is about getting in the right relationship, the right place, with Jesus and staying there! Maybe you need to start your day (anyone dragging on this Monday morn?) with some type of reminder to 'stay true in the Lord'. We have radios in our bathrooms so that we can listen to Christian radio first thing in the morn. 96.5 JOY FM. It helps! Maybe you should get up 15 minutes earlier and start your day with some scripture or just quiet time with God. How about the rest of your day? Especially if you know of times during the day when you are most likely to be faced with some challenges. Do whatever is necessary to 'stay true to the Lord'. Remember, when you break the tape at the end of your race, the only thing that is going to matter is whether or not you stayed true to Jesus and made him first in your life. Paul also says in verse 1 that the people he had ministered to were his 'joy and crown'. I can honestly tell you that when I see your faces and see what God is doing in your lives, that is my reward!

v.2 They obviously had a couple of ladies that couldn't settle their differences. We're human. We're all messed up. And some junk is going to happen along the way. Our challenge, just as in the days of this fledgling church in Northern Greece, is to resolve things lovingly and quickly. Look carefully at Paul's words here in verses 2 & 3. He's really quite considerate and wants to see this resolved in a way that does no further harm to the church, the community or the individuals. The way that we resolve conflict can be a testimony to people outside the church. 

v.4 It's a choice to rejoice. Are you a joyful person? Do you bring joy to others? Do people enjoy being around you and look forward to your company? Life is too short to be cranky. Christians, of all people, should be full of joy! What does it say to people when Christians are the most 'soured up' people they know? You don't look pious or holy when your face is all shriveled up. You look silly. Get over it. Don't take yourself so seriously. Life is full of joy if you are looking in the right places. So, how can you be more joyful? Take a moment to write out a few ways that you can choose to be more joyful. Now, go smile at someone!

v.6 Worry is a peace-robber. Worry is a thief. Worry wants to take what God has given you (peace) and replace it with anxiety. Many are absolutely trapped with worry. Some of you even worry about things that 'might' happen. Hey, don't spend precious energy being anxious about something that might not even happen. Will I ever worry? Yep. Is it wrong to be concerned? Nope. But, let me ask you this. Before you worry, fret, or stew, have you taken those thoughts to Jesus Christ? Have you totally turned the situation over to him? Have you done your part and do you understand that the outcome is out of your hands. Trust will diffuse your worry. The more you trust in God and who he is, the less you will worry. Take some time to jot down all of your worries. Job, kids, finances, health, relationships, whatever. Now, as you pray, scratch things off your list. Or, run your list through a shredder! It's just a symbolic way to show that it is out of your hands and into God's. Satan wants to keep you down with worry. Jesus wants to set you free. Matthew 6:25-34!!

v.6-9 This is where we spent our time yesterday. Fix your thoughts... Think about things... Keep putting into practice. Fix. Think. Practice. (NLT translation) 

v.19 Between verses 9 and 19 Paul tells us to be content with whatever we have in this world. Then in verse 19 he reminds us that God is a generous God who will take care of us and supply whatever we need. This summer I was in Mozambique with a group of guys from Crosspoint. I was struck by how these beautiful, humble people who have so little by our standards feel as though they have everything. They thank God for water and for food to eat. May God help each one of us to live within our harvest, help others in need, and be thankful for all we have. There may be some other 'needs' that aren't physical or obvious that we need God to supply. Maybe you need healing? Maybe it's a need to be free from your past? Maybe you need to change directions because your choices are hurting others. God can supply that 'need'. He can fill the void and show you a new Groove, a new way of living!

La eterna pólemica en torno a Little Britain resurje de sus cenizas, con el estreno de Little Britain USA, que no es otra cosa que la cuarta temporada de Little Britain, pero como ahora los de la HBO ponen el dinerito encima de la mesa,  se han llevado a los personajes predilectos del programa a los Estados Juntitos de Ámerica (E.J.A.) y todos felices y contentos.

Bueno, todos todos no. Para todos los seguidores de la serie (entre los que me incluyo) es sabido que es una serie bastante pólemica para el público (o la quieres o la odias), pero sin embargo la crítica es bastante unánime en destacar sus altos grados de gamberrismo, falta de sutileza e ironía, por lo que esta fría acogida por parte de la "prensa especializada" americana es por lo menos sorprendentemente.

Así que como siempre vayamos por partes:

¿Es quizas la sociedad americana tan tópicamente puritana como parece ser? Muy cierto es que de una manera superficial Little Britain se ríe de todo con las consecuencias que ello conlleva, pero no son los primeros ni los únicos que lo hacen por lo que tanta crítica en cuanto a la forma... ¿no huele un poquitín a envidia?

¿Es pura envidia? La misma gente que crítica a Little Britain por vergonzosa y absurda, ha aupado a las alturas a gente como Sarah Silverman a la que a bruta le ganan pocos. Sinceramente desconozco si hasta ahora Little Britain era conocida por las masas y críticos americanos, pero todas estas declaraciones suenan a pataletas del tipo, "ahora tienen que venir dos ingleses ha enseñarnos a hacer comedia"o "nosotros solos nos servimos para remover nuestra mierda". Pero sinceramente no creo que sea así (y al éxito de Ricky Gervais remito). Hay veces que un producto por lo que sea, no gusta por igual a diferentes sectores de la población y por ahora parece que Little Britain no esta hecha para los gustos de la refinada prensa especializada americana.

Pero claro, puestos a echar pestes... oye que Little Britain no es perfecta y puestos a críticarla, así por ejemplo se me ocurre la repetición sistemática de los mismos chistes o la excesiva  utilización del caca, culo, pedo, pis, que no es que sea malo, pero las cosas en su justa medida. A mí gusto es una comedia excesiva (aunque seguramente ese exceso es el principal ingrediente de su éxito) y no apta para todos los públicos, especialemente los abonados a lo politicamente correcto.

Así que a modo de resumen, ¿es Little Britain absurda y vergonzosa? Por supuesto, pero... ¿qué hay de malo en ello?

Personaje de "Heroes".

Si un genio te cumpliera tres deseos... El genio fuera malo... Y pudieras hacer el mal sin pensar en las consecuencias, sabiendo además que por cada fechoría habría recompensa para ti mismo... ¿qué tres deseos pedirías? Uno es seguro: Ser como Sylar.

Si se le ha de poner un adjetivo seria el de Puro Antagonista. Es TODO lo contrario a lo que se marca en la serie "Heroes", que sea como fuere, habla de lo que un grupo de personas hacen cuando descubren que tienen poderes especiales. Visto así, todo el mundo pensaría, si tuviera esa oportunidad ayudaría a otros pero ... la naturaleza humana bien es sabido que no siempre ha de ser buena. Y entonces conoces a Sylar.

Es un hombre inteligente y frío. Cuando se percata de estas habilidades en otros, decide que lo quiere todo para sí mismo. Comienza así su caza como asesino en serie de humanos evolucionados. Observa su cerebro y comienza a quedarse con las habilidades de estos tras acabar con ellos. Manipulador y a la vez sensible... y con una mente helada y perfeccionista cual relojero, busca a estos humanos anhelando poseer lo que ellos tienen y que él nunca tendra, su poder.

Porta además como nombre el de Gabriel que no es otro que el Ángel de la Muerte. Trabajaba como relojero en Nueva York y siempre se sintió mediocre al no sentirse especial. Cuando se entera de que hay humanos con poderes, ansía el poder llegar a tener uno, y como ve que eso no es posible, opta por buscar la manera. A su relojería llega Brian, un telekinético. Cuando Sylar ve como éste rechaza su poder, mata a Brian le quita la parte del cerebro que este tiene y que le da esa capacidad y la estudia. Su capacidad de comprensión es tal que cuando hace esto, adquiere el poder de la persona a la que ha matado. Desde ese momento Sylar busca a otros con poder para hacerlo suyo. Lo que Sylar no llega a comprender es que realmente siempre tuvo un poder, el de saber cómo funcionan las cosas con tan sólo mirarlo por dentro. Así consigue diferentes poderes: telekinesis, regeneración celular, transmutación alquímica, precognición artística, creación de ilusiones, superaudición, radioactividad, licuefacción y supermemoria. Y las que seguró vendrán más adelante.

En el fondo Sylar sólo quiere lo que los demás tienen, que sea como fuere, en cierta forma nos hace idénticos a él. ¿No deseamos tener lo que otros tienen? Aunque al final todo quede en deseo. Sylar en cambio, lo que desea lo toma.

Con el comienzo de la tercera temporada, su personaje toma mucha más fuerza aún. La Compañía ha sido desmembrada y muchos villanos han escapado y ahora andan sueltos usando sus poderes para hacer el mal. Sylar se une a los "buenos" para detenerlos, ¿o para hacerse más poderoso? Aplica con inteligencia aquello de, "si no puedes con tu enemigo, únete a él".

Cita: "Mira a los demás, aprende de ellos lo peor para saber qué puedes esperar en cualquier momento. Nada te pillará por sorpresa, y todo te hará más fuerte".

Eran 12 puntos, con ellos pedí la octava temporada de SG1 (ya se que tenía que haberla comprado depués de la primera de Atlantis, pero no la encontré en las tiendas), me enviaron un email diciéndome que tardarían unas 10 semanas (esto fué a finales de junio, cuando acababa la promoción).

Viendo que pasaba el tiempo y que no la recibía tuve que rendirme y aceptar que no me llegaría (no podía reclamar porque no había teléfono ni email de contacto), así que me la compré.

La semana pasada recibí un paquete que resultó ser Stargate SG1 Temp 10, pensé que se les había acabado (a pesar de que cuando la pedí habían unidades suficientes) pero no le di mucha importancia porque así no tenía dos veces la misma temporada. Dentro del paquete había una nota que decía que me mandaban lo que había pedido, no que lo habían sustituido sino que lo había pedido ¿?

Hoy mirando en el libreto de la promoción que venia con Atlantis me fijo que la temporada 10 vale 4 puntos menos que la 8, me compré expresamente la 3ª de Atlantis para no quedarme fuera de la promoción y tener 12 puntos para la 8, pero si lo llego a saber me quedaba solo con los 8 puntos reunidos con las otras dos temporadas.

Ale, ya me he desahogado.
