“Padahal aku dandan abis, lo…sampai gak nyangka dapat “the best make up”..

Wow. “Aku yakin emang juri gak salah pilih…”

“Hmmmm…” Ia terdiam.

This is what I wish I could do in two years time.

Hah!? Apa nih maksudnya? Apa salahnya aku nonton via youtube.

“Aku tuh pengen banget kayak gitu. Keren.

Busyet! “Emoh…aku mending liat show kamu aja..private tapi lo..”

“Hihihi…iya deh..Asal jangan minta yang lain ya..! Huahaha..” Ia menggoda.

Sekejap bayanganku tentangnya kembali hadir. Wajah merah merona. Pulasan make –up yang menggelora. Liukan tubuh dalam satu sudut ruang. Remang cuaca yang menimbulkan nuansa berbeda.

“Oh iya, aku liat rekaman acaranya aja deh, Fal…”.

Aih!..Apalagi ini? Ter-la-lu-ter-bu-ka..?

“Kop, gak enak aja..ini bukan konsumsi publik..”. Ia menambahkan sebagai reaksi diamku sejenak.

“Aku kasih foto wajahku waktu itu aja ya..”.

Kerling mata penuh percaya diri. Namun, ada binar “mengundang”. Namun memang elegan. Namun memang cantik. Namun kamu memang betul-betul cantik.….

“Gimana Kop..keren kan…itu kalo gak aku crop, busana minimnya bisa kamu liat..”

“Huahahahaha…” Ia tertawa. Lalu kembali berkata: “Well..... you havent seen the costume, red and black, with a gold snake necklace, and gold earings, gold shoes...Terlalu vulgar buat kamu. So, I'll leave it to your imagination.. huahahaha..”

It's the rule.

sure there are other spots on the tourist itinerary for cairo, but this gem of a house, the gayer anderson house, is a must see. 007 thought it was worth a visit, part of the movie "the spy who loved me" was filmed in the house. it is located next to another favorite monument of mine in cairo, the ibu tulun mosque. the house, actually, it is 2 houses joined by a bridge, is a rare example of 16th century domestic architecture of cairo, and one of the best preserved. major gayer anderson, who was later given the title pasha by egypt's ruler, king farouk, was allowed to live in the house in the early 20th century before he had to leave egypt with an illness. the house is also known as "beit el kritliyya" or house of the cretan woman - after a woman from crete who owned the house prior to gayer anderson. the house is now a museum, and contains all of gayer anderson's furniture, carpets and collectibles. especially interesting is the roof from where you can see the exterior wall of ibn tulun mosque and its unique spiraling minaret - i believe there is only one other such example in samarra, iraq. the mosque was constructed in late 9th century and is the oldest and largest mosque in area in cairo. don't miss climbing to the top of the minaret on the exterior stairs for some breathtaking views of cairo. wrap up your visit with a stop at khan tulun, a shop of egyptian arts and crafts. if you're really in a rush, you can complete this tour in under 90 minutes.

Samarra University, a sprawling network of university campuses in Iraq, today announced that it had admitted its 225,000th student. The university, named for the town where the Al-Askari mosque stands, was founded by Shia clerics under the auspices of the Hijric Collective and has campuses scattered throughout Iraq. Its most recent campus was opened in Basra late this year.

Since 2001 the Iraqi university system has become the most robust in the Middle East. For example, Baghdad University has grown from 34,555 students (1988 numbers) to nearly 90,000, mostly through its two new campuses. The Foundation of Technical Institutes has grown from 35,000 students (also 1988) to 70,000, a growth that also can be attributed to new campuses in Mosul and Basra. In addition, the Hijric Collective has opened up a number of smaller universities (in addition to the Hijric Samarra University) with a somewhat Islamic-focused curriculum. Although this makes conservative American politicians nervous, so far the results are encouraging, with about 35% of the first wave of graduates moving on to post-bachelor work at the larger universities, and the rest into such fast-growing Iraqi professions as civil engineering, accounting, and IT.

Osea, a fundamentalistas islámicos y a socialistas panárabes.

It often snowed in Samarra*,
draped in the lilting hue of joy,
Gliding, merrily fell on the boulevard
mixed with the freedom of soil.
Often I stretched the hand of mine
with a desire to feel the joy
on the withering fingers of mine
but it felt only the warm sunshine
I will not hold that glistening joy
which shone in the morning sun
because I cannot,
but still I yearn to free myself from these bars,
and these chains long and hard
for the sun is calling me and the
young flakes are giggling.

(c) Soham Das

(The author wrote this poem after he read the immense torture people in Iraq suffered on their own soil during and after Saddam Hussein Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti 's regime. Samarra had one of the many secret torture prisons.)
*Samarra was changed from Sarre Ma (a joy of all who see) to Samarra (a "sad" for all to see) by Armenian soldiers in Medieval times.
