The reason why I am interested in Spread32 is because I want a table to organize my TODO list. I know about Treepad which allows one to organize TODO in a tree structure, which is a very good concept. My problem is that TODO involves two steps (1) quickly jot down something you remember (2) organize such things so that these can be done in an efficient manner.
If I use a text file and each task is on one or two lines, I can later copy and paste these into the appropriate node in Treepad. So things would work out no doubt except that there is no way to categorize or sort things in Stage 1 itself.

On the other hand, if we were to enter the tasks in a spreadsheet (preferably with in cell editing), what we can do is enter the task directly in the third column where the first column is date and time and the second column is type of task. Later on, we can fill out these first two columns too. Now even Stage 1 TODO become sortable and usable.

As of right now, I am using OpenOffice Calc. I save the TODO sheet as Excel 97 because Spread32 supports this format. The other common format is CSV but in a CSV file, formatting gets lost. To preserve the cell height and width etc, I have settled on Excel 97 format. I use OOCalc to enter data and the lightweight easy to load Spread32 to read it.

>>>> Hello
>>>>
>>>> In a Calc sheet, I have a column with mail addresses. Some are blue,
>>>> underlined and with a grey background. When I click on one, I can
>>>> send an e-mail. Others have the appearance of a normal entry and don't
>>>> provide a link to my mail client. How can I 'activate' them to work as the
>>>> blue ones?
