When we want to access an OPC server installed on the other computer, we need some configuration to allow the operation. The configuration relatively different for each Operationg System (OS) and also for different product revision. For example, Windows XP SP2, Windows XP SP1, Windows 98, each of them has different configuration.

In this post, I write the configuration to allow an OPC client to acces OPC server by remote in Windows XP SP2.

OPC Product: DeviceXplorer, MatrikonOPC, KepServerEx

Here are:

1. Make sure PC server and PC client connected by ethernet connection (it doesn't matter weather we use cross or straight connection).

2. Make sure we use the same account and password on both PC.

3. Make these configuration on both PC server and PC client :

============================================================

DCOM security setting

a. Open Component Services window
Go to Start->Run and then type "dcomcnfg"
b. On the component services window, go to Console Root->Component Services->Computers
c. Right click on the "My Computer" and select "Properties"
d. Go to Default Properties tab
e. On the Default Distribution COM Communication Properties frame, set "Connect" for Default Authentification Level and "Identity" for Default Impersonation Level.
f. Go to COM security tab.
g. On the "Access Permissions" and "Launch and Activation Permissions" frame click on "Edit Limits" and "Edit Default" button step by step. On each step, make sure these group or user name has been listed: "ANONYMOUS LOGON", "Everyone", "INTERACTIVE", "NETWORK", and "SYSTEM". Don't forget to check all checkbox on the "allow" side for each group or user name.
h. Go to Console Root->Component Services->Computers->My Computer->DCOM Config
i. Find the OPC server you want to access on list, right click on it, and then select "properties"
j. On the General tab, set the Authentication Level to "Connect"
k. Go to security tab.
l. Set "Customize" on both "launch and Activation Permissions" and "Access Permissions" frame, step by step click on both Edit button and make sure these group or user name has been added : "Everyone", "INTERACTIVE", "NETWORK", and "SYSTEM". Check all the checkbox on the "Allow" side for each group or user name.
m. Go to identity tab and then chack to the "The interactive user" radiobox.
n. Again, go to Console Root->Component Services->Computers->My Computer->DCOM Config

Acolo s-a renuntat serviciul oamenilor angajati cu inspectarea produselor, modalitate considerata ineficienta in politica supermarketului.

I remember when we were standing around at a typical road show wine tasting in 1998, in a typical hotel ballroom in Chicago, behind our typical white tablecloths, in alphabetical order: Adelsheim, Bethel Heights, Chehalem… David and Harry and I saying to each other how “this could be a tasting from anywhere - we look just like everybody else. We need to get these people out to Oregon.”

Every June since 2000, invited members of the wine trade from around the country have been coming to Willamette Valley wine country for three days of total immersion in the Oregon wine experience. Small-group workshops at wineries and vineyards during the day, grand tastings and dinners under the stars at night. Much much better than a road show.

This year Bethel Heights hosted two sessions of the “Cool Whites” workshop. Three flights of six wines each were tasted and discussed: Chardonnay,Pinot Gris, and “Fruit Salad” - an eclectic assortment of other white varieties, which this year included Riesling, Arneis, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Blanc.

Bethel Heights winemaker Ben Casteel introduced the Fruit Salad flight by saying that even though these are minority varieties in Oregon, often available only at the wineries in very small quantities, these are wines that winemakers love to drink, and that’s why they make them. We have Ben to thank for the fact that we are making Gewurztraminer again at Bethel Heights, after a thirteen-year hiatus, and planting Riesling in our new vineyard after pulling it out of the estate vineyard sixteen years ago.

[wp_caption id="attachment_9" align="alignnone" width="300" caption="Ben Casteel, Dave Paige (Adelsheim Vineyard), and Michael Davies (Rex Hill) listen to Moderator Tony Soter telling the Pinot Campers at the Cool Whites Seminar at Bethel Heights that panelists are not allowed to say the word “pH” in the seminar.

smar.snmpopcserver.0

smar.hseoleserver.0

smar.dfioleserver.0

It was very strange not going to Synod this year. It was the first I’ve missed since my firs

It was very strange not going to Synod this year. It was the first I've missed since my first as a new pastor in 1999. I chose not to be certified to vote as a pastor w/out call.

I've talked to a few of my fellow Presbyters about what happened in my absence. Tonight I came across Dr. William Evans' articleabout this unordinary meeting of Synod. Apparently he has been busy, since he also has a piece there about Peter Enns' book Inspiration and Incarnation. He simply lays out so problems with the book. But on to Synod where the issue of inspiration arose.

For the first time in years, more than one person was nominated to be Moderator of Synod. It is interesting on a number of levels. One, Barry Dagenhart, has deep roots in the ARP and would probably affirm the status quo and put a big priority on relationships. The other, Dr. J.R. DeWitt, is a relative newcomer to the ARP (more recently than yours truly), but Drs. Evans, R.J. Gore and Sinclair Ferguson believed that his theological acumen are vitally important as the ARP addresses some important issues. He would not maintain the status quo, and is quite fearful of a top-heavy denomination (which the ARP cannot be accused of having with any seriousness).

I agree that a man with theological acumen, and who will not seek to preserve the status quo but rather move us into the future, is greatly needed. I'd humbly disagree with Sinclair Ferguson that Dr. DeWitt is that man. One of the great things about the ARP, which I've needed to have modeled to me, is the emphasis on love as well as truth. Our pursuit of truth must be done in love and hopefully preserve the relationships that already exist. My experience with the Dr., limited as it is to debate on the floor of Synod, would make me hesitate in applauding his election as Moderator. While I may side with him theologically, I fear that the price of winning the debate may be too great. I really hope I'm wrong.

I would like us to take our theology more seriously, and build stronger relationships with other conservative Reformed denominations. We do need to repent of our in-grown ways. But that is a product of spritual renewal. I want us to be more than well-connected with the PCA, OPC et al. I want us to grapple with the call to be missionaries to this culture and our communities. I don't sense that winsome, missionary spirit with Dr. DeWitt. I think we had the right motives but not the best choice, if that makes sense. Mark Ross probably would have been a better choice, but convincing him to serve would probably be difficult.

Regarding Scripture, 3 different motions were approved to strengthen our stance on the inerrancy and infallibility of Scripture. Since we are in the process of revising our Form of Government it is important that new ministers understand and affirm these things lest we drift off to the left over time. Without these fundamental commitments, our ability to properly address the theological issues before us becomes weak and suspect. To include these affirmations in the ordination vows, and as standards for Synod employees, is what was missing from our affirmation of these truths over 2 decades ago.

PARIS (Reuters) - Crude oil prices could rise to as high as $170 per barrel in the coming months but

PARIS (Reuters) - Crude oil prices could rise to as high as $170 per barrel in the coming months but are unlikely to hit $200 and should ease towards the end of the year, OPEC President Chakib Khelil said in an interview on Thursday.

"I forecast prices probably between $150-170 during this summer. That will perhaps ease towards the end of the year," he told France 24 television, according to a text of the interview released by the station.

The comments came as crude prices neared $135 per barrel, after rising about 40 percent this year.

Khelil said he doubted prices would climb as high as $200.

"I think that the devaluation of the dollar against the euro, if everything goes as I think it will, will be of the order of perhaps 1-2 percent and this will probably generate an $8 rise in the price of oil," he said.

The head of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, said it had been clearly established that speculation was impacting markets.

GTC – Gran Turismo Compact.

oke .. skrg saya mau posting oleh2 trip kemarin ...

coba2 wonderware intouch 9.5 ke controllogix via RSLinx Classic 2.51 ..

RSLinxnya bertindak sebagai OPC Server ...
OPC = OLE for Process Control

8. punya pegetahuan programmingnya wonderware .... sama seperti point 6
9. dah punya pengalaman konek wonderware ke plc .... sama seperti point 6

nah kalo sudah ...

kita mulai langkah2 nya ....

6. setelah terbuka OPC Test Clientnya, pilih Server -> Connect
7. Pilih RSLinx OPC Server
8. lalu buat group baru

The Cause of Disease
Diseases used to be accepted by most as unfortunate but inevitable facts of lif

The Cause of Disease

Diseases used to be accepted by most as unfortunate but inevitable facts of life. We now know that diseases were not "caught" rather they are reflections of the condition of our body cells.

Most people know they must do regular maintenance for their new car. But few took care of their bodies that are much more complex than cars. If you put butter in car's gas tank, your car will be "sick" and stop working. Similarly if you don't supply your body with the right amount of nutrients it needs, you will be sick and get diseases. On the other hand, if you don't change filters on time, your ventilation system will be clogged up and too much dusts will be built to make it eventually stop functioning.

Our body is made of millions of cells. The building blocks of cells are atoms. When atoms are healthy, our cells replicate more healthy cells allowing the unhealthy cells to die then to be discharged from the body. What makes an atom healthy is that it has paired electrons (yellow dots).

Atoms missing an electron are known as Free Radicals. Free radicals destroy surrounding atoms by stealing their electrons. Cells that replicate in a damaged state are the cause of all chronicle diseases such as cancer, heart attack, osteoporosis, and many others that develop over a long period of time.

One cigarette generates one quadrillion free radicals, i.e. 1,000,000,000,000,000 !!!!!

"Scientists now believe that free radicals are causal factors in nearly every known disease, from heart disease to arthritis to cancer to cataracts. In fact, free radicals are a major culprit in the aging process itself. By controlling free radicals, antioxidants can make the difference between life and death, as well as influence how fast and how well we age."

- Lester Packier, Head of Pakcer Laboratory, Dept of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of California, Berkeley

Free radicals make fat sticky so they start building up on the artery walls. These deposits cause blockage of blood flow, leading to heart attack or stroke. When cell's DNA is damaged by free radicals, cancer cells develop and replicate resulting in many forms of cancer.

When we are not feeling well, suffering from allergies, heart attack or cancer, they are symptoms not cause of the illness. Symptoms alert us that something isn't right in our body. They are ways for our body to signal our brain to take immediate actions, such as to cleanse, detoxify the free radicals and to supply quality nutrients for the cells.

The Solution

The solution to fight against free radicals is Antioxidants. Antioxidants have "extra" electrons to give to Free Radicals to turn them back into healthy atoms and thus neutralize their harmful effects. Therefore antioxidants are your body cell's guardian angels against disease.

Where do antioxidants come from? They are found in fruits and vegetables as well as nuts, oils, beans and berries. They can also be found in high quality supplements and nutraceuticals.

Insufficient vitamins intake is apparently a cause of chronicle diseases...Most people do not consume an optimal amount of all vitamins by diets alone. Pending strong evidence of effectiveness from randomized trials, it appears prudent for all adults to take vitamin supplements." - America Medical Association

A deficiency of vitamin or mineral will cause a body part to malfunction and eventually break down - and, like dominos, other body parts will follow."

- James F. Balch, M.D. Prescription for Nutritional Healing

Our health, intelligence, energy and appearance are all dependent upon replenishing our body with vitamins and minerals several times a day.

Not all supplements are beneficial. First, your body must be able to absorb them. Secondly, they must contain many different types of vitamins and minerals combined in the right proportions to achieve optimal results.

The x-ray picture below shows the "brand name" vitamin tablets in the lower colon ready to be discharged from the body. These particular supplements can never benefit the body.

J. Gresham Machen is fastly becoming one of my favorite writers. Founder of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church in the USA, and one of the founders of Westminster Theological Seminary, Mr. Machen is known for standing as a beacon against liberal Christianity in the 20's and 30's.

The following is a really great excerpt from the book, "What is Faith" that shows why I think he is such a great writer. In the chapter called, "Faith and Works" Mr. Machen says the following:

What a great theologian is the Christian heart - the Christian heart that has been touched by redeeming grace!

The man who has felt the burden of sin roll away at the sight of the Cross, who has said of the Lord Jesus, "He loved me and gave Himself for me," who has sung with Toplady: "Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to Thy cross I cling" - that man knows in his heart of hearts that the Apostle is right (Paul in the book of Galatians), that to trust Christ only for part is not to trust Him at all, that our own righteousness is insufficient even to bridge the smallest gap which might be left open between us and God, that there is no hope unless we can safely say to the Lord Jesus, without shadow of reservation, without shadow of self - trust: "Thou must save, and Thou alone."

Fretting About Cancer?

Okay, so maybe there’s a little nagging voice in your head that says: “You’d bette

Okay, so maybe there's a little nagging voice in your head that says: "You'd better improve your habits if you don't want the big C." Or perhaps there is a history of cancer in your family, and you figure it's a Russian Roulette kind of thing-- either your number will come up or it won't. Or maybe you're one of those people that just doesn't worry about it; you just go from day to day doing your best with your diet and health, but now and then you wonder if it's enough.

I used to fret about cancer all the time. It seemed to me like an insidious, horrible thing that could get you without you even knowing, like an odorless gas. People in my family started getting cancer. First my mom, then my dad, then my aunt, then my sister. Why them? And when was my number going to come up?

I sought the advice of my doctor at the time. I asked her what I could do to avoid being the next victim. And... she had no answer for me. I have to credit her, though. She had posture. When she told me that my best bet was simply to come in for lab tests every year, she delivered that message cheerfully and professionally. She had nothing at all to tell me about prevention or taking good care of myself. Then, in her pleasant doctorly way, she told me that all that fretting I was doing indicated that I had Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. And she put me on a medication to control my problem.

That lasted a few months, until I realized it was not the path I wanted to be on. Hilariously enough, I discovered I was fretting that the medication would give me cancer. So I stopped taking it. And then, like many Baby Boomers, I went looking for my own answers. What I found was that there is a whole lot a person can do to stay well. And once I began to take prevention seriously, I actually stopped fretting. And it turns out I'm really not Obsessive or Compulsive about much else, so I kind of think the OCD diagnosis was a little over the top.

Here's what I did:

Cut out icky processed food. (Preservatives are toxic and increase free radical activity.)

Reduced my intake of white flour products and baked goods.

Focused on eating low-glycemic index foods. (The Glycemic Index is a great guide to overall health, including blood sugar management and weight management. And keeping your weight under control is great cancer prevention, since there are quite a number of cancers associated with obesity, including colon, kidney, pancreatic, and postmenopausal breast cancers.)

Added more fiber and whole grains, occasionally taking a fiber supplement when it seemed appropriate.

Added a whole lot more fruits and vegetables, and added a greens supplement. (Note: the greens supplement must be a live food. Also, live greens are great for the digestive system, and a healthy digestive system is a great prevention against colon cancer.)

Began a liver and colon cleanse regimen every six months.

Started taking high quality super-antioxidants every day. (My choices were Isotonix OPC-3, Maximum ORAC, Resveratrol, plus vitamin C.)

Started exercising more to improve circulation.

Started taking a better multi-vitamin and added a vitamin D supplement. (Some research indicates that vitamin D may help to prevent breast cancer.)

You're right, if you're thinking that's a lot of supplements. But it made a big difference in how I feel. Body and mind are so connected... I really do feel both physically and mentally in better shape. But one of the best side benefits of making these changes was that I stopped thinking of cancer like something random and unavoidable like a lightning bolt. Instead I feel like I'm the one in control of my own health.

"Look! I have Soup!"

Yesss... Well.. last time, we left our little munchkins Oregano, Parsley and Chive in their teenhood, ready to face the rocky road of luuurve. And because Oregano's a no-go...

Parsley gets to go first! ... this has nothing to do with her being my favourite.. oh no.

In true Fong Fashion, off we go to Sugarcube. Oregano & Chive tag along for the ride, just in case there's anyone good to have in their phonebooks later on in life.

"Heeey, you're that girl from the last generation of that Boolprop Challenge. Paisley Klong, Right?"
"Me? Yeah, It's Fong, Parsley Fong. Ohh! And you're that townie dude that walks around town like he's from an 80's cop show!"

"Guilty as charged, Penelope, Guilty as Charged."
"It's Parsley."
"Mmhmm. Kapow! Gotcha!"

"Ohmygodthashilarious... Love that copstuff. Y'know Posey,"
"Parsley."
"Mmhmm. You look like the kind of girl that likes to waterballoon fight in the rain. How 'bout it?"
"Fine."
"Cool, cool. Let me just go gussy up and I'll be right out. My hair goes *poof* at the slightest hint of moisture. See ya in a sec, Poppy!"
"It's Pars-..oh nevermind."

So Justus trots off to the bathroom to protect his perfect crop, and who's there but our very own Chivemeister.

"What's the matter with you, buddypal?"

"I've just met the girl of my dreams. Soft ashen hair, cold sky-blue eyes, the most elegant sense of style that I've ever seen. Ahh, she's more beautiful than words can describe."

Ooh goody! She sounds perfect, show her to me!

"Isn't she wonderful?"

She certainly is... special.

"You step any closer, sonny, and I'll be sending you where the sun doesn't shine."
"Ahh..Wonderful."

Come on, Chive, why don't you go get a drink and find Oregano. I heard there's a deeply sophisticated red-head sitting at the bar."

Not your type? Oregano seems to like her.

And on that note, we'll find out how Polly-er.. Parsley's getting on so we can get home.

Now that's what I've been waiting to see. Hometime!

"Nice girl, that Dina. Very... warm."

Oookkkayyy....Step away from the creepy, Oregano, that's Milton's job.

Back at home, Chive's attempts at finding love aren't going so well.

"Hey, theres a dude in my house who's a vampire.. wanna see?"
"What.. Milton? Meh. Seen it, Heard it, witnessed the meltage."

"A Vampire?! Cool! What's his name?"
"The Eerie, cheery, unreplaceable, unmistakeable Count Milton Fong!"

Parsley on the other hand is getting along fine.. Not only does she have Justus wrapped around her little finger...

She's been making her move on some of the other hotties in the neighbourhood. Especially the wholly stereotypical emo/goth guy from one of my families in pleasantview.. Who also happens to be called Justus.

Hey, there's Siera. Hmm.. I wonder what she's up to. There's been some odd stuff going on lately.

"Shh, The pink eagles fly at sunrise! Got that my little Birdbrain?"

"Heehee.. Eagles.. Pink... Pink... Eagles"

HMmm...

"I'm sure there were more of those yesterday."
DEFINATELY something fishy going on! Hey! What's happening over there?!

Where are you going?
"There are graphics, poor graphics, screaming to be rescued in a kingdom far far away from here! A kingdom of fanciful dictionary appreciation, teaparties and regular cups of brown joy!"
What... tea?
"AND that!"

"Goodbye, fair voice, goodbyyee!"

Okay... so yes, Sierra and Robin have had to move out to save my poor depleting graphics. Sorry, dudes, that's the way it goes.

"Guess what!"
"What?"
"We're home alone!"

"OMG! I feel a sudden urge to clean the toilet!"

"ROCK ON!"

These kids are not normal... The scary thing is, Milton is now the main parent again :o I fear for them, I really do. Oregano's already started walking around in his underpants :|

And Parsley's ego is blooming by the day

Hey, maybe even the roles have reversed.. Milton's been spending a lot of time with that telescope which is a bad idea.

A VERY Bad Idea. (You know, I've never actually had a spontaneous abduction in the whole time I've been playing the sims 2. Why didn't I predict it was going to happen to this house?! By my gosh, the faces when he came back. Oh, the faces XD)

"Hey, Parsley, can I ask you something?"
"Go Ahead, Gramps."
"Does my pout look fatter to you?"
"..."

"It's not noticeable. Whats up with your clothes, though?"

"I don't know, but these pants are SUPER comfortable."
"Stand up."

"You're pregnant."

"Whatnow?!"

Milton's gonna be a daddy again! I can't even remember that far back. Boudica, Ophelia, Orville was it? They're all grown up and probably dead. Oh well! New baby! So much for saving my graphics.

Two days on, and lots of tantrums later...

... The baby was on it's way.

And at a most inconvenient time, too - Daylight.

But Parsley was there to welcome little Filbert Fong (a boy, alien skin, Milton's blue eyes. And yes! It has a nose! I have the Pirate McSkittles PT from insim. :)) into the world so Daddy could get back to bed and prevent himself from having to be scraped of the bedroom floor with a spatula. If you can call a dark tower with a coffin in a bedroom.

A quick bottle o the white stuff, a bit of spreading the good news...

"Milton had a baby!"
"Milton had a baby?!"
"Milton had... EW!"

...And Parsley gets back to business.

Didn't I say he was a stereotypical emo?

Justus & Justus aren't the only boys with an extract of Parsley going on, David Ottomas likes his herbs too:

and by the look of that kiss, alot. Ew.

But Parsley's romantic excapades leave the boys in charge of the baby. Not a good idea. Not when one of them is off limits and spends most of his time on an exercise bike and the other has a brain the size of a pea. Free will makes sure the baby gets fed until Milton gets up, though.

Even if the house smells like a fisherman's welly.
Timesharing just about gets the house through to Filbert's birthday, too. And, because it's the last chance, we push the boat out a bit and have some balloons. But you can't see them. *shifty*

Chive's taste in suits is immaculate, don't you think? ;)

THIS is why I love Pirate McSkittles

How cute is he? In a unique way :D aww his little hawaiian shirt and his elf ears :D :D *squee*.
Filbert's Stats are: Saggitarius 1/6/10/10/8

That's a better picture.

Live in the Fong household is taken over once again by little feet and now everyone starts stepping in in to help out with bringing up the little green man. Everyone being Parsley... and occasionally Chive.

Even Justus 1 (Justus2 has taken a back seat for a while) has a tickle:

And life settles down. For a while. Well... a day or two.

It's Birthday time!

Oregano is now free!

So I can get my hands on him makeover-wise! And dress him in just about the wackiest thing in the Fong family wardrobe... >:D Hey, Once a bad apple, always a bad apple.
All he gets is some quick goodbyes

before he packs up his flamingos and moves out, dreaming of a LOVEly future ;)

Byebye Oregano!

One down, two to go! but first, it's another birthday. Parsley, Chive & Milton successfully fulfilled the 3 major wants (walk/talk/pottytrain), so Bertie's more than ready to go!

Eee :D THE cutest and most unique Fong yet.. Eventhough he's only really Half Fong if you think about it. oh well, I stand by my word.

Filbert instantly becomes best friends with Parsley :)

and follows her all over the place. They're inseperable. UBER cute to play :P but it couldn't last long. Only two days afterwards, Parsley's birthday comes around.

After a quick makeover, off she goes into the world.

So poor little Filbert has to find something else to do :(

First he turns to Chive ;)...

"Guess what!"

"Daddy Milton said I came from a space ship! That's a ship with lots of space in it!"

"HE says that the little green men sucked him up in the clouds like a milkshape and stole all his dignitys. And then when he came back I was borned. Where did you come from?"

..then Juggling... Which seems to be the better option.

Soon enough, the time came to say goodbye to the last Fong, Chive.

Quickly and painlessly after Filbert had gone to bed, it was goodbye for the last time! The end of the road! How strange!

It must have finally sunken in for Milton, too, as something very strange happened that night...

He grew up.

Well... Sort of...

THE END!

Thanks a huge amount for sticking around to read all this, I know it's taken a long time and it hasn't been the best legacy ever, but it's my first and I really appreciate that some people were kind enough to follow it :) so yeah, thanks alot! And sorry about the poor quality of the vid, not really my forte if I'm honest, Told you it was unexiting ;) but I suppose Filbert's part of the surprise too! Bye for now!

Meet the professor who former Ethiopian dictator put on “death sentence” and waited for seven years in detention without trial.

As Prof Merera Gudina trots the world freely as a renowned scholar and MP in Ethiopia, Mengistu’s life is in danger after his country’s courts recently entered a death sentence verdict against him.

The former strong man is living in Zimbabwe, another sinking titanic, courtesy of President Mugabe.

“Ethiopia cannot be equal to Kenya, except in athletics, or we are just ahead in giving birth to our 80 million human population.”

“It has been like jumping from fire to the frying pan and then getting caught up in a ball of explosive fire,” he said.

Prof Gudina is chairman of Oromo People’s Congress, first vice-chairman United Ethiopian Democratic Forces, and chairman of Political Science and International Relations department, Addis Ababa University.

He is a senior bachelor and an MP who earns no salary.

He was in Kenya recently on invitation of his former lecturer at the University of Addis Ababa, Prof Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o, Kenyan minister for Medical Services and co-chairman of African Research and Resource Forum.

Prof Gudina found the Kenyan legislators quest for huge salaries a ‘‘unique” governance or rip off strategy. However, lecturers are paid well in Ethiopia than MPs.

Prof Gudina stood up to Prime Minister and his former University colleague Meles Zenawi in 2005 during live transmitted official opening of parliament to challenge his speech and he warned that; “when people cannot find anything to eat, they can end up eating their leaders’’.

The statement infuriated the Prime Minister to the point of refusing to answer his questions, yet in Ethiopia, it is an offence for the Prime Minister not to answer questions in Parliament.

Prof Gudina led a students’ participation in the revolution that overthrew Emperor Haile Selassie in 1974 and helped Mengistu, then a military officer, take over power, and now he is a thorn in the flesh to Mr Zenawi.

Mengistu detained him for seven years as the dreaded Red Terror squad killed thousands of Ethiopians, including his elder brother. He was released in 1984 through a political amnesty then finished his first degree that was pending after 14 years in 1986.

Prof Gudina, aged over 50, was the guest speaker during a seminar on the regional discourses for the strengthening of the civil society in Kenya organised by the African Research and Resource Forum .

I spelled it out in the title, but don't expect me to do it again.

The third hockey release for next season to release before the season even starts is Upper Deck's OPC offering. Here's how Upper Deck sells it:

Awesome 600-card base set, ideal for anyone who loves set collecting

Boxes are 36 packs a box, 6 cards a pack. One of those cards a pack is a "variation" card (more in a moment). That's 5 cards. There are 20 other inserts scheduled a box, leaving you with 160 of the 500 regular base cards. The last 100 cards of the set come 1 every other pack You get 18 of those, so your total base card haul from OPC will be... 132 cards. Boxes sell for around $50, so that's 200 dollars to hand collate a set, providing perfect collation.

Of course, those 4 boxes only get you 72 of the last 100 cards. Another 2 boxes would fill in that gap.

So if you want to put together the set through wax, you're looking at $300. If you get perfect collation. A set collectors dream.

Great 1979/80 Retro variation of the regular set!

Why not wait until next year, when it'll be the 30th anniversary of that set? You could really fire up the bells and whistles to celebrate the Wayne Gretzky rookie card set. Instead of celebrating the special 29th anniversary of the set. Sounds like a glorified parallel to me.

Commemorate the Winter Classic... find 1 card paying tribute to the old-school event!

These are actually nice looking cards, and would probably be fun to build. However the checklist I've found online says nothing about how big this will be.

Find Autographed Buyback cards! Just as with last year's hit, some tremendous hits can be found.

Last year's list is pretty impressive. These hits come once a case.

Triple Jersey cards and OPC signature cards lend punch!

Indeed, there is quite a list of Triple Material cards. These fall four per case (or in in every 4 boxes) and the OPC signature cards are once a case hits as well.

And Upper Deck says there are 9 gold parallels, 1-2 retro set parallels, and 9 "Box Break" inserts a box, for those keeping score at home.

I will say this for the Upper Deck OPC releases, I always like the way the base set looks. Depending on time and money, I may actually try and chase this set on the secondary markets.

2008/09 Upper Deck OPC is scheduled to release Oct 10th.

Oasis

An ACRONYM which will assist us in remembering the mission for Oasis is: Outward, Authentic, Serving, Incarnational, Simple

The Purpose of Oasis is: Equipping others to be more faithful disciples through serving them in discipleship-evangelism, exhortation and restoration, to a full relationship with God, in all of life.

Theology of Oasis: (taken from my recent work while in assessment through ACTS 29 Network)General Theology:

1) Who have been your primary theological teachers, or influences? In other words (apart from the Bible), what authors, theologians (either living or dead), movements, denominations, or schools of thought have most influenced your theology? John Calvin, Louis Berkhof, Robert Reymond, James Montegomery Boice, Wayne Grudem, D.A. Car-son, John MacArthur, C.J. Mahaney, Jerry Bridges, NANC, CCEF, The Westminister Standards, PCA, OPC.

2) Outside of the Bible, what is the most theologically-intensive book you have read cover-to-cover? Louis Berkhof – Systematic Theology, Wayne Grudem – Systematic Theology and Bible Doctrine, Robert L. Reymond, A New Systematic Theology of the Christian Faith, Theology of Christian Counseling – Jay Adams.

3) What is the gospel? (i.e. theologically speaking, not how you would explain the gospel message to a non-Christian)

A = Admit
1. First, God demands that we admit without reservation that we are sinners and that we should therefore be separated from His presence forever. We are in rebellion against Him, either consciously or unconsciously, and we deserve not grace but judgment. (Isa 53:4-6; Rm 1:18-32, 3:10-19, 23, 5:6-11; Gal 3:19-29; 1 Jo 1:10)

B = Believe
2. The second point to becoming a Christian is to believe that God loves you in spite of your sin and that He has acted in Jesus Christ to remove that sin and to begin to make you perfect once more by conforming you to Christ's image. "God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Rm 5:8). "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (Jn 1:9-13, 3:16, 6:47; 1 Cor 6:9-11; Rm 10:9-10; Rev 3:20).

C = Commit
3. Finally, there must be an act by which you actually commit yourself to Christ. Or, to put it another way, you must open the gate of your heart and receive Him. This does not mean that you are responsible for your own sal-vation. If you do open the door, it is only because Christ is there beforehand moving you to do it. Still, from your own point of view, the act itself is abso-lutely indispensable. (Matt 7:21-29; Lk 6:46-49, 14:25-35; Jn 6:44, 64-65; Rm 8:26-39; 1 Jn 1:5-10).

Lately too, I have also been having the folks read Luke 8:5-18; 15:1-32 and asking them what kind of soil are they and which brother are they in the parables? These two final questions have led to some great EGGs (Evidences of God’s Grace) in how they are answered and what God is doing in their hearts!!! I have been also been known to use Romans 1:18-32 and anything by the Way of the Master as a tool to start a spiritual conversation!

4) Please give your view of the scriptures.
I affirm that the Bible is the only inspired, inerrant, authoritative and sufficient Word of God consisting of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments. Scripture asserts its sufficiency, in that it claims exclusivity for its teaching and applicability (Isa. 55:11; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:3–4 NASB).

5) Briefly describe your philosophy of ministry and evangelism?
I am convinced that the subjects of evangelism is everyone, both believer and non-believer, that the substance of evangelism is the Gospel, and that the method of our evangelism is declaration and demonstration. Further, I am convinced that the context of our evangelism is personal and corporate.

I believe that any ministry and evangelism should contain the following elements:

Outward - because I have been shown great mercy, I do not hold onto that secret, I “get to” share it with others (Matt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).

Authenticity, not contrived or forced relationships are not going to reveal Christ to anyone, but through participating together in the life and truth made possible by the Holy Spirit, through our union with Christ, sharing in common on the deepest possible level of human relationship which is essentially walking out ALL the “one-another’s” found in scripture (Acts 2:42; 1 Cor. 15:10; Phi. 2:1; Phlm. 1:6). I like the quote, “a pattern of effective behavior that flows out of core identity, character and calling, enabling you to fulfill your role with excellence by meeting the needs of the present situation to the glory of Christ and for the good of others.”

Serving – acknowledging that Christian service is God-centered (Col. 3:23-24), others-focused (Gal. 5:13), characterized by humility (Phil. 2:3-4), empowered by the Spirit of God (1 Peter 4:10-11).

Incarnational - not just basing a ministry model on the Jesus who lived, but on the Jesus who lives. "Christians living out the gospel in their cultural context like Jesus who tabernacled among us." - Darrin Patrick (Mar 3:1-6; Rev 2:1-3:22).

Simple – the daily Christian life is based upon faith in Christ, repentance unto Christ and new obedience in Christ and we tend to complicate it into rules and regulations, guilt and shame management based upon appeasement.

6) What is our role in saving the lost, and what is God’s role? See #3 above which is quite clear on this, however for further clarity, our role is to declare and demonstrate the Word and God is in charge of the results (Luke 8:5-15; 1 Cor. 3:4-23).

7) In your own words, how do you understand the doctrine of predestination and what view do you personally hold on this doctrine? (e.g. God’s sovereignty vs. man’s responsibility, free will, who are the elect, etc.) I am reformed in my perspective of predestination and this is my personal view that predestination of which for me, means that salvation and reprobation are entirely God’s decision, made in eternity before the world and its inhabitants existed, regarding the final destiny of individual sinners that God has chosen some persons for the gift of salvation...and some for hell. All of which is an affirmation of God’s gracious favor bestowed upon the undeserving. I believe scripture confirms God’s sovereignty AND man’s responsibility, one cannot read for instance 1 Cor. 10:12-14 asking the question WHO IS RESPONSIBLE and not see that tension. I wholeheartedly believe that because of the fall, man is incapable of any spiritual good and without God’s intervention are destined for hell. That any attempt of good deeds are worthless and filthy rags. I like how the WCF puts it: “Man, by his fall into a state of sin, has completely lost all ability to choose any spiritual good that accompanies salvation. Therefore, an unregenerate man, because he is opposed to that good and is dead in sin, is unable by his own strength to convert himself or to prepare himself to be converted.” Scriptures that confirm this view are clearly in Proverbs 16:4; John 13:18; Romans 8:30; Ephesians 1:3-14; 2 Thessalonians 2:13-13.

8 ) How has Adam’s sin affected our nature and our ability to choose in regard to good and evil? See #7 above. Because Adam’s sin is imputed to us, it also necessitates the need for Christ’s righteousness to be imputed to us. I like how the WCF puts this, “When God converts a sinner and brings him into the state of grace, he frees him from his natural bondage to sin, and by his grace alone he enables him freely to will and to do what is spiritually good. Yet, because of his remaining corruption, he does not perfectly nor only will what is good, but also wills what is evil. The will of man is made perfectly and unchangeably free to do good alone, only in the state of glory.”

9) Briefly describe your view of local church government, including the offices, who can/should hold them, and who has final authority for decision making? I wholeheartedly subscribe to finding our job descriptions in the bible, i.e., Jesus is Senior Pastor, elders and deacons. I do not see “directors” of this or that ministry, and I want people to find their job descriptions in the Bible, specifically the Pastoral Epistles. I do not see a division between teaching elders or ruling elders but one class. I also see that scripture is open to women holding the position of deacon (Romans 16:1) but not to the office of elder. I also believe that a session (a body of elders) is also biblical, used of God to shepherd the people for decisions, teaching, stewardship and that Jesus/Bible is the final authority for decision making.

10) What is your eschatological position?
I hold to Historic Premillennialism, the view that Christ will return to the earth after a period of great tribulation and then establish a millennial kingdom. At this time believers who have died will be raised from the dead and believers who are alive will receive glorified resurrection bodies, and both will reign with Christ on earth for a thousand years (Rev. 20:1–10). I have visited this issue a few times, and still land on HP. One of the best resources to assist me with this issue and I refer to others is: “The Meaning of the Millennium” by Clouse.

11) In regard to the values that will shape every aspect of the life of your church, please list 6 core convictions concerning which you (as lead planter) will never give in, nor even bend on, as you plant your church.
o (1) – Sola Scriptura - Scripture is the final authority for all matter of faith and life (Isa. 55:11; 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:3–4).
o (2) – Evangelism, discipleship and counseling is one ministry and not optional (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 15:14; II Corinthians 1:4; Galatians 6:1-5; I Thessalonians 3:2; II Timothy 4:2; Hebrews 10:23-25).
o (3) – Biblical peacemaking is a skill that is consistently, surgically, immediately, accountably, redemptively, restoratively, and humbly worked on in all of life (
