This is a wedding we took somewhere in June.... Young and beautiful couple. They have known each other for more than 10 years and finally decided 2008 is the right year to bulid their love castle.

We are honoured to be their official wedding photographer. To witness and to share their memorable moments together.

Job started on Friday went we have to capture their Akad Nikah ceremony. I arrived 1 hour earlier to scout the place and get to know her family. I took the preparation from make up, dressing and tudung. Capture a few shot of the family member getting ready, cooking and also preparing the outside table.

It was busy every where but you still hear laughters here and there.

I've write too much already.. now I shall let you enjoy these 3 photos:

She is now officially a wife and soon to start life together as one.

Since both couple are locally Labuan, Majlis Malam Berinai is being done individually. We are covering at Yana's side.

This is another recent assignment where we were hired to take family portraiture at Encik Mat Salleh's resident. On the first day of Hari Raya, after the visit to the cemetary, we all gather at their resident in Kampung Patau-Patau 2.

It was sunny day and under the extreme hot condition, we are all sweating but still it does not make us stop from doing the photo shooting and yet still still had lots of fun.

Majlis Potong Jambul: Nurhana

She is beautiful,

the baby girl of our friend....

......Nurhana.....

Daddy and daughter moment... She was scared... really really scared.

Imagine what she would have thinking... an old man next to her daddy was holding a big scissor and going towards her... poor baby girl, if only she could understand what was really going on, she wouldn't have cried that loud....

But she will understand when she is old enough and see this picture....

She could bare to look a the man. She must be very worry and wondering what is going to be happening. Mummy also feeling sad for baby Nurhana was crying... she couldn't even look at the scissor.

My guess, she is wondering!

Well well..... practically this is my first shooting for engagement ceremony. Basically 2 event at once.

It was last minutes assignment.

Engagement of our own friend and Majlis Potong Jambul for our friend's first daughter.

Great exposure for us indeed.

We enjoyed every snap we took.

It was beautiful moment to share with.....

Suffy Birthday Bash!

Warning: Again this is a belated post, please do not wish him HAPPY BIRTHDAY now as it is gonna be a very very very and very BELATED BIRTHDAY WISH. Wait till next year ok...

Me and partner was invited to Suffry's Birthday Party at Beta Apartment. It was great. Food was delicious and people are fun too. They decorate the place nicely and it's was practically one of that kind of party that I have not attended in a very very long time. Owh and the cake is fantastic!

This is our birthday boy...... the theme of the party is SEXY & ELEGANT!

First day of Hari Raya

It's holiday today for the First Day Hari Raya but me and my partner has got to work for VML. We are excited to spend the morning for this shooting with Manbai & Family. It's Family Portraiture, just the right time for a family photo session as during this day, every member of the family will be home and not forgetting the new baju melayu and baju kurung.

It's was fun to have this photo session with Manbai's family, we laughs and jokes during the session. Everything went great and smoothly. Just the weather is not very friend. It was so hot! Apart from that, the photo session goes as plan.

SAPP Supreme Council declares that SAPP is no longer a member of the Barisan Nasional

Press statement by SAPP President Datuk Yong Teck Lee after the SAPP Supreme Council Meeting at Party HQ, Kota Kinabalu on September 17, 2008 (4:30 pm)

The BN has lost its "BN spirit". It was not that the people who did not want the BN, it was the BN who abandoned the people. In spite of repeated appeals from some BN members to other BN leaders to be more sensitive to the peoples' feelings, these leaders continue to treat the people with contempt. Perhaps, after 50 years of uninterrupted government, some BN leaders have got it in their heads that they have a divine right to rule.
On March 8, the people had spoken out loud and clear. The BN paid a heavy price. But yet the BN refuses to learn. The ruthless increase in fuel prices on June 4 and the failure to tackle inflation and economic slowdown have dealt a severe blow to ordinary people. The recent blatant abuse of the ISA against an innocent journalist, an MP and a blogger only confirms that the BN leadership has not learned from their mistakes. The shameful Taiwan trip by 49 BN MPs and the instigation of racial animosities have aggravated the collapse of confidence among the people and leaders, not only on the PM but the BN as well. The PM's budget 2009 was totally uninspiring and has already been discredited even before it was debated in Parliament. The BN has lost its moral authority to rule. Numerical majority in Parliament means little if the people no longer respect you.
Minister Datuk Zaid Ibrahim's resignation only confirms what many lawyers already knew that is that the Prime Minister and his government has never had the intention to reform the judiciary. Datuk Zaid's exposure about "the BN government being paralysed by internal strife and divisions" has also been known to many people in the BN. In many other countries, such paralysis of government will lead to fresh general elections.
The PM himself appeared drifting, not knowing what has been happening around him. SAPP has nothing personal against the PM and family. None of the matters raised by SAPP concerns his person, his family, son, daughter, son-in-law or businesses. SAPP is only concerned about the issues affecting the country such as the need for good governance, the dangers of racial polarization and injustice of economic imbalances to be tackled effectively.
SAPP hereby proudly dissociates ourselves from these shameful wrong doings of the BN government. SAPP further believes that the BN is not capable of practicing good governance and non-racial politics; that BN has no intention in granting autonomy to Sabah, returning 20% of oil royalties and Labuan to Sabah, implement Borneonisation, review unfair federal laws and departments in Sabah, solve the illegal immigrants problems and remove social and economic imbalances. The BN leadership even refused to recognize historical facts by denying September 16 as Malaysia Day, 45 years.
SAPP had only wanted to see that the legitimate rights of Sabah and the unfairness suffered by Malaysians in Sabah be given due attention with results. The BN must realize that, if not for Sabah and Sarawak, BN would be in the opposition today. But instead of sincerely working to solve the issues raised by SAPP, the BN has chosen to embark on a course of action to destroy SAPP. The SAPP Supreme Council hereby condemns the attempts of BN operatives to destroy SAPP through divide and rule tactics and by abusing the economic resources of the BN State and Federal Governments aimed at instigating SAPP members and leaders to destroy SAPP.
As a matter of fact, by deliberately excluding SAPP from four consecutive meetings of the Dewan Tertinggi and two meetings of the Management Committee ever since the announcement of no confidence on the Prime Minister on June 18, the BN has effectively terminated the membership of SAPP. The SAPP Supreme Council hereby declares that SAPP is no longer a member of the Barisan Nasional coalition of parties.
SAPP is now free from the BN. SAPP shall henceforth use this freedom to pursue our autonomous political path to fulfill our mission to establish a trustworthy government and a progressive, just and harmonious society. We are no longer subservient to BN. We now have the master key to our own house. We shall build a brighter future for our people and the younger generations to come.
SAPP members who hold political appointments in the executive branch of Government shall relinquish their posts by giving the due notice under the constitution and relevant rules and regulations, starting at the Cabinet level.
With our experienced MPs, ADUNs and other party colleagues, SAPP shall provide quality opposition in and outside the Parliament and State Legislative Assembly until the time comes when SAPP is ready to be back in government.
I call on our members to be brave. Do not despair. Remember that one of our party culture seven values is Resilience. From the day we join the party, we knew that things can get very rough for us. Yes, together we shall overcome this difficult period because the people are with us. With the strong encouragement and support of the people, SAPP will succeed in our struggle.
In view of the current fasting month of Ramadhan, SAPP shall only embark on a series of political activities two weeks after Hari Raya. We shall plan a road map to victory in future elections. We shall elaborate how we plan to achieve the eight-points declaration, namely:
(i) Good governance and non-racial politics,
(ii) Autonomy for Sabah,
(iii) 20% oil royalties,
(iv) Return of Labuan,
(v) Review of unfair laws and detrimental departments,
(vi) Borneonisation of the federal civil service,
(vii) Solution to the illegal immigrants issue, and
(viii) Redress economic and social imbalances.

hmm....

tulisan kali ini cuma goresan kecil dulu. masih menginjak pekan-pekan awal hidup di lingkungan baru, Bali. sendiri, dengan orang-orang yang baru aku kenal, tanpa orang tua, tanpa saudara, tanpa teman yang pernah aku kenal. mana puasa lagi sekarang... absolutely alone, i think. this is over my expectation (ingat, over. bukan more than atau beyond). banyak yang dirasakan dan ingin aku ceritakan di sini. tapi nggak sekarang, lain kali aku tulis.

foto diambil di pantai kuta, saat sunset. weekend di bali pas hari raya galungan dan kuningan, jadi tempat wisata rata-rata sepi. masih ada foto lainnya karena sebelumnya main juga ke pantai Labuan Sait, main kano di pantai Sumawang, ke monumen perjuangan di Renon, dll. belum aku upload, karena ya itu tadi goresan kecil dulu. besok lah...

Visa Cards

Getting a decent monthly income will automatically entitled you to get a card. credit card to be exact. I am more than qualified to get one now but I refrain myself from getting one. Why? I don't want to be in debt & I can't control my spending. :)

But then, I need a card to make online purchases, book airline tickets, and etc which require a credit card. *sigh*

Instead of a credit card, I opt for a debit card. Purchases I made deducted straight from my account; paying with my own money & owe the bank nothing. Sounds like a good plan.
I applied Maybankcard Visa Debit months ago & I have been happily using it for swapping all over stores that carry Visa logo :)

Nice looking debit card. Cute. Very useful. I like. My lifesaver when I was in Labuan Airport. I booked ticket for my LBU-BKI flight last week prior to my KL graduation trip through Malaysia Airlines online booking. It was a time-out session booking & I got to call their 1-300 call centre to confirm the ticket booking. They said the flight confirmed & they shall send the itinerary to my email but until 5 hours before the flight, I have yet still to receive any email from them. I was pissed off. The MAS ticketing office in Labuan Airport said my payment was auto-reversed & I got to pay at the counter if I wanted to take that flight back to KK. I got no choice but I was running out of cash. They charged me 245MYR for a LBU-BKI and I only got 150MYR in my purse. Lucky there's a debit card.

However, though Visa debit saved my life in Labuan, I can't upgrade my flickr free account to pro. I need a Visa card that can be used for online transaction & verified by paypal. Maybank debit visa is not build for online purchases and withdrawal, yet. What a bummer. :(

(I wonder.. If it can't be used for online purchases and withdrawal, it can't be called a debit card then? Perhaps the right term would be electronic ATM? hmmm but it still deducted from you bank account, so.. )

Again, when these things happened, I start doing a research on which is a good card *debit card ahem* to apply for my second card. I'm hoping I can get a debit card with a mastercard logo this time.
At first, I wanted to apply PB Visa Electron Debit Card but then I decided not to. :) Though there are so many good review on the card but I personally feel it's not good for me. Why?
1. It's yellow. ew. Not that I hate yellow but it doesn't look attractive. Mwhahahaha.

2. Annual fees as compared to Maybank Visa *which is FOC*
3. other reasons which I'm too lazy to jot it down here.

I was thinking of getting IKEA card too as it offers good bargain for purchases I made in IKEA. I do spend A LOT when I visited IKEA store but hey, IKEA Mutiara Damansara is 2 hours and a half away from my house. So, a cup of Swedish coffee/tea at 50% off and discounted swedish meal (meatballs!) doesn't apply to me everyday. *sigh* and how am I gonna accumulate points when I visit their store once in say, 3 months? oh anyway, it is a IKEA Friends Loyalty Payment Card.

After hours of reading review from various blogs/forums/bank websites/etc, I've decided to get a Tune Visa card. It is a prepaid card where you need to top-up in order to use the card. And it is paypal-friendly. LOL.

I don't have to worry getting over-spending my kaching straight from the account & it's RED.
Nice card! :) I will collect my TUNE card at Likas Post Office in 10 days time. :)

It's a Waste!

I will be away from Kota Kinabalu the whole week of next week (note: Monday to Saturday) as I will be flying to Labuan for a field work/site assessment for oil & gas scheduled waste & then off to KL for my convocation ceremony.

I am terribly nervous going to the field as I am not really prepared mentally to adopt to the oil & gas environment; let alone assessing the chemical spill, types of scheduled waste and so on.

Argh. And the remaining day of the week, I am pack with my two on-going Projects. I have submitted the draft report for the mixed development to the client and I am preparing the reply-complaint letter for another Project.

I am terribly busy. I got no time to wash my graduation robe & argh! I got to go to the nearest studio and take picture as that would be the typical routine for the graduates upon receiving their scroll.

Isn't it?

I have no idea. Please help me!

Ke Pulau Labuan

Pada 30/05/2008 hari tu saya pergi ke Pulau Labuan. Saya sebenarnya sudah lama ingin ke Pulau Labuan tapi tiada ruang untuk ke sana.

Oleh kerana pada hari tersebut saya tidak ada apa-apa aktiviti, dengan spontan saya terlintas ingin ke Pulau Labuan. Saya berkemas sedikit barangan dan pakaian terus keluar untuk ke Jeti Jeselton membeli tiket Feri. Tiket yang awal sudah habis cuma yang ada pada jam 1.30 petang. Terpaksa la beli juga sebab dah sampai ke Jeti.

Nasib baik pernah pergi Pulau Langkawi naik Feri, sebab Feri tu tak jauh beza ngan Feri ke Pulau Langkawi. Kalau tak susah juga sebab pertama kali nak ke Pulau Labuan seorang diri. Tak ada penunjuk jalan. Main redah je lah.

Perjalanan dari Kota Kinabalu ke Pulau Labuan dengan Feri mengambil masa 3 jam setengah. Lama juga juga rupanya atas Feri. Boring sungguh. Teengok gelagat orang kat atas Feri tu je lah. Kalau orang tempatan nampak biasa je. Kita boleh cam pelancong atau orang tempatan sebab orang tempatan nampak releks je. Kalau pelancong nampak exited dan happy je dengan telatah masing-masing.

Atas Feri tu juga ada penjaja yang jual makanan ringan dan air. Tapi seronok tengok telatah penjaja tersebut sebab dia bawa air panas sekali dalam balang kalau sapa-sapa nak beli maggi segera.

Sampai di Pulau Labuan saya buat macam orang dah biasa je. Terus je berjalan masuk bandar tapi hakikatnya tak tahu pun arah mana nak pergi. Dah la hari dah hampir gelap sebab kat Sabah ni memang malam nyer awal. Saya pun berpusing-pusing la cari hotel. Ada je nampak perkataan hotel terus je masuk. Tapi tak tahu la hari tu, saya masuk 4 buah hotel semua nye penuh. Dah mula risau sebab hari dah makin gelap. Dalam fikiran mana nak tidur malam tu kalau tak ada hotel. Akhirnya dapat juga hotel di Hotel Labuan. Bilik semua penuh cuma ada satu bilik besar je yang tinggal. Terpaksa la ambil juga walaupun nak tidur sorang jer.

Lepas letak letak barang dan solat saya bersiap nak keluar. Bila sampai kat Loby rupa-rupanya hujan lebat. Nampaknya tak boleh nak ke mana-mana. Nak buat apa lagi... kat bilik tengok TV la. Cadang nak lepak kat Loby tapi kebetulan ada majlis perkahwinan Chinese kat situ. Penuh dengan orang yang hadir.

Besok pagi tu saya awal-awal lagi bersiap untuk ronda-ronda. Kebetulan pagi tu ada pasar pagi. Boleh la tengok barang-barang jualan kat situ. Bandarnya tak la besar sangat tapi padat. Harga barang-barang pun biasa jer cuma rokok dan coklat murah sikit. Orang kata arak pun murah juga kat situ tapi tak kan saya nak servey harga arak pulak.

Masa pusing-pusing tu saya ternampak kedai gunting rambut. Sempat la saya gunting rambut kat situ. Di Kota Kinabalu kedai gunting rambut sangat sikit, yang banyak adalah saloon. Maklum la tak pernah masuk saloon. Rasa pelik jer kalau nak gunting rambut kat saloon. Tu lasaya ambil peluang gunting rambut terus kat Labuan.

Selesai tu saya pergi check out hotel. Jam masa tu 12.15 pm . Saya terus ke jeti untuk beli tiket. Saya pikir tak sanggup lagi naik Feri tu sebab lama sangat. Saya buat keputusan untuk naik bot laju ke jeti Menumbok. Jam 1 lebih saya naik bot tu. Best rupanya naik bot tu sebab ia tertutup. Satu bot lapan orang penumpang. Dalam masa 20 minit dah sampai jeti menumbok. Di menumbok tu satu lagi masalah pulak. Saya bukannya biasa kat menumbok tu. Baru saya terfikir macam mana saya nak balik Kota Kinabalu.

Saya cuba-cuba la ikut penumpang tu pergi mana. Kebanyakan penumpang tu dah ada orang menunggu kat situ. Saya pulak terpaksa la menunggu kat perhentian kereta sewa. Kereta sewa kat situ tak banyak untuk ke Kota Kinabalu. Terpaksa tunggu kereta dari Kota Kinabalu hantar pelanggan kat situ. Lama betul menunggu sehingga 2 jam lebih baru ada. Kereta tu pulak pemandunya kata nak pergi ambik isterinya kat Beaufort. Kena la pergi masuk satu kampung tu kat ladang kelapa sawit. Rasanya dari jalan besar lebih 10KM baru sampai rumah mertuanya. Anaknya ada 3 orang. Terpaksa la kami meriba anaknya.

Tak lama lepas tu hujan lebat turun. Rupa-rupanya viper kereta tu rosak. Terpaksa la jalan macam kura-kura sebab tak nampak langsung jalan kat depan. Yang nampak cahaya lampu kereta depan sebagai panduan. Hampir 3 jam juga perjalanan tu baru la sampai Kota Kinabalu.

Bila dah sampai , saya balik ke rumah basuh pakaian dan berehat. Walaupun penat tapi memang seronok... kalau ada kawan-kawan masa tu mesti lagi seronok.....

”Seafood of Love” Untuk Satenya Bu Entin

Labuan hanyalah kota kecamatan di kawasan pantai barat Banten. Tidak jauh ke sebelah selatan dari pantai Carita yang belakangan lebih terkenal itu. Namun kalau kebetulan pergi berlibur ke pantai Carita, sebaiknya jangan lewatkan untuk mampir ke Labuan, lalu carilah Rumah Makan Bu Entin di Jalan Raya Labuan Encle. Kalau kesulitan, tanya saja sama orang lewat di sana pasti tahu tempatnya.

Apa yang menarik dengan rumah makan Bu Entin? Wow..., jangan kaget di sana ada sate raksasa...... Ini bukan menu satenya Buto Ijo, melainkan ya disediakan bagi pemangsa daging sejenis manusia yang kelaparan. Hanya manusia yang kelaparan yang sanggup menghabiskan beberapa tusuk satenya Bu Entin.

Coba simak deskripsi berikut ini : Satu tusuk sate hati sapi terdiri dari lima potong yang kalau di tempat lain barangkali satu potongnya ini sudah ekuivalen dengan setusuk sate. Satu tusuk sate cumi-cumi terdiri dari lima ekor masing-masing berukuran sebesar batu baterei D-size gemuk sedikit. Satu tusuk sate udang terdiri dari lima ekor masing-masing berukuran sekorek api besar sedikit dan ada juga yang lebih besar. Satu tusuk sate ikan (entah ikan apa) terdiri hanya seekor ikan laut kira-kira selebar peci hitam untuk sholat (tidak usah repot-repot sholat dulu untuk membayangkan, pokoknya cukup buesar....).

Belum lagi otak-otak yang bungkus daun pisangnya gosong di sana-sini dan masih panas, dipadu dengan dua macam sambal berwarna merah dan coklat muda. Masih ada urap, lalap leuncak, mentimun dan tauge kecil mentah, dsb.

Dari tampilannya saja (sumprit..., saya berkata sejujurnya) ludah saya sudah tertelan beberapa gelombang. Sampai bingung saya harus memulai dari mana untuk memakannya, padahal nasi sudah dituang ke piring dari beboko (ceting) yang disediakan. Akhirnya yang saya ambil duluan malah tauge mentah saya campur dengan sambal cabe merah.

Sebungkus otak-otak saya buka kemudian dan saya dulitkan (cocolkan) ke sambal yang berwarna coklat muda. Komentar saya spontan pendek saja... "Hmm...., enak..., enak sekali....". Pilihan hasil assessment saya memang hanya dua, enak dan hoenak sekale.....

Sejurus kemudian baru setusuk cumi, setusuk udang dan beberapa potong hati sapi yang saya dudut (lolos) dari tusuknya. Itupun sudah hampir menenggelamkan nasi di piring saya, yang kemudian malah belakangan baru saya makan nasinya.

Oedan tenan......., sungguh sebuah petualangan makan-makan yang ruarrr biasa..... Setiap gigitan dan kunyahan cumi-cumi dan udangnya terasa benar sensasi seafood bakarnya. Juga potongan hati sapinya mak kress.... di gigi ketika memotong tekstur bongkahan sate hati sapi yang dibakar hingga tingkat kematangan well done (sebaiknya jangan setengah matang).

Hampir sejam kemudian, perut sudah terasa kenyang nian...... nafsu serakah seperti sulit dikendalikan, tapi apa daya kapasitas tembolok manusia memang ada batasnya.

Entah dimana Bu Entin pernah belajar bisnis, namun sejak awal membuka usaha (yang kata pegawainya sejak tahun 1996), Bu Entin sudah menerapkan jurus deferensiasi. Bu Entin berani tampil beda dengan ide sate hati sapi raksasa dan sate seafood yang juga berukuran tidak biasa. Ditambah dengan adonan sambalnya yang mirasa, membuat faktor pembeda itu semakin mantap pada posisinya dan bertahan hingga kini. Akhirnya terbentuklah brand image Bu Entin yang seakan menjadi jaminan kepuasan pelanggannya.

Bu Entin memang luar biasa, masakannya maksudnya....... Meski yang menyajikan masakannya sebenarnya juga bukan Bu Entin sendiri melainkan para pegawainya. Tapi nama kondangnya sudah cukup untuk memanipulasi seperti apapun kualitas kemahiran memasak pegawainya. Siapapun pengunjung yang datang untuk menikmati sate raksasa dan sate seafood Bu Entin, maka yang terbayang adalah buah karya tangan Bu Entin.

Layaknya sebuah kesuksesan, maka kemudian berduyun-duyun para pengikut meniru jejak Bu Entin membuka usaha rumah makan sejenis di seputaran kawasan Labuan. Namun tetap saja Rumah Makan Bu Entin yang paling banyak diminati sehingga bukannya pengunjungnya berkurang, malahan semakin dikenal.

Kendati tampilan warungnya terkesan sangat sederhana, namun sajian cita rasa yang ditawarkan sungguh tidak sesederhana tampilannya, melainkan membuat kangen banyak pelanggan setianya terlebih bagi pengunjung fanatik yang sudah telanjur cocok dengan masakan Bu Entin.

Seorang pengunjungnya yang datang dari mancanegara saking terkesannya dengan masakan sate seafood Bu Entin, sampai menyempatkan untuk menuliskan sebuah puisi berjudul "Seafood of Love", yang kini dipajang di dinding Rumah Makan Bu Entin.
