There are two kinds of souls – good and evil. The two are distinguished by their acts, characteristics…and whether or not the mother is alive.
If the mother dies while giving birth, the child is good, pure, and lives with his or her father.
If the mother lives…the child is thoroughly evil. In which, rare, case, the child is sent to a juvenile preparation center where they make sure the child can cause no harm.
But if a child isn’t put in a center right away…mass destruction is caused and the mother is killed, if lucky.
The people of Earth have never had to worry about that though…until I existed.
After many years of causing damage, they’ve caught me and then I sat there in my room/cell.
And I crave to get out of here. With just a piece of my mother’s pure and good DNA, they can operate on me and change me to a good citizen, but I can only become that with mom’s DNA.
So I’ve been given a chance - a chance to find my mother, with bodyguards following me to make sure I don’t cause trouble.
But who’s to say my mother’s alive? Who’s to say the angry mobs killed her? Who’s to say I even want to find her?
Who’s to say I won’t kill her?

So, I'm going to be writing that xD and eventually making a website for it.

This beast that is the blogisphere has swallowed me, and I must extract myself before I'm completely digested. That means I won't be reading blogs, either, but I welcome email (or the occasional chat) as I'm sure I'll miss you all. I'm sorry I won't be keeping up with your lives on a daily basis. I'm also going to turn off the comment notification, as that is the lure with which the beast draws me into its mouth.

And now I will leave you will a funny little thing that you may have already seen, but is worth watching again. Thanks for everything, and hopefully I'll see you soon.

where's the interview?

Well, I am insanely busy this week preparing for that Maternity & Baby Fair Presentation.

And to add to the insanity, our internet connection was dead all day yesterday, forcing me to be tech free all day. We didn't get internet connection back until just as I was going to bed. I did manage to get my presentation flyer finished but still have quite a bit to do between now and Saturday morning.

So Sharing the Journey the interview feature is on hiatus until next week when we'll feature an interview with another father who's been on the frontlines of the PPD Battle and survived! (And hopefully we'll hear from his wife the following week!)

I leave tonight for my Boston vacation and I am so excited that I can hardly stand it. I can't wait to explore the sites, sounds, and foods of this amazing city.

I am promising myself (and all of you) that I am not going to go overboard with my eating on this vacation. I'm going to make healthy choices, and as I said in my previous post, I'm going to indulge, but do so mindfully. I've had great success in my weight loss, and I don't want to sabotage that, even for an amazing vacation.

This will probably be the first vacation in my life where I don't treat eating as a free-for-all. Usually I approach vacation eating with a devil-may-care attitude, but not this time. I know I can make good choices and still enjoy myself. Am I going to drink red wine, or shots, or the cocktail-du-jour in Boston? You bet! Am I going to eat local delicacies, even though they may be high in calories and/or fat? Yes. But I'm going to try to control my portions. A bite or two of something rich here and there will allow me to taste the delicious dishes without feeling like I threw my weight loss efforts to the wind.

I have proven to myself that I have a strong will and can show restraint and control with food when I have a goal in mind, so this vacation should be no different. I am confident that I'll be able to keep myself on a good path and not do too much damage to my waistline.

Of course, planning and doing are two different things, and I'll check back in on the 15th to see how I did with this in practice. Wish me luck!

Am să iau şi eu calea lui Dez (nu la propriu), aşa că blogului o să îi lipsească ambele capete. Nu vă temeţi, însă! În primul rând, durează doar o săptămână, după care Dez o să fie din nou la datorie. Doi, am adunat aici nişte recomandări de pe întreg cuprinsul Internetului, ca să puteţi suporta lipsa colacului de salvare numit Arpagic :)).

• Cui nu-i plac webcomic-urile? Fiecare cu preferinţele sale: poate îţi place eleganţa ştiinţifico-romantică (uau, am inventat un termen!) din xkcd sau umorul inteligent, dar negru din The Perry Bible Fellowship. Poate vrei o bandă pe cât de simplă ca imagine, pe atât de densă şi deşteaptă (şi cu dinozauri!). Sau una distractivă şi şmecheră. Sau poate pur şi simplu te enervează toată treaba asta şi vrei ca cineva să le calce în picoare.
• Dacă, asemenea mie, îţi place să cauţi profunzimea lucrurilor superficiale, aruncă un ochi aici. Tipul e un maestru...
• Te-ai săturat de LOLCATS şi cauţi nişte imagini amuzante mai "proaspete"? Ia vezi ce pot face nişte minţi luminate cu Photoshopul. De fapt, dacă tot eşti acolo, stai mai mult pe SomethingAwful - cel mai ciudat şi mai amuzant loc de pe Internet. (în afară de 4chan - nu, nu vă recomand să intraţi acolo. vă rog, NU intraţi!)
• Nu am apucat să scriu articol, dar o emisiune garantată să te facă să explodezi de râs (aveţi grijă!) e Whose Line Is It Anyway?. Chiar dacă a început la englezi, eu prefer varianta americană, din care vedeţi clipuri aici sau aici.
• În final, un blog mult mai inteligent decât vom fi noi vreodată.

I'm going to quit posting to Tucson Dialog, at least for the forseeable future, whatever that means. It has never developed into a dialog, and I am having way more fun with my other two blogs, Daniel's Book Report, and This Just In!

There is plenty of PR I could talk about; Beckham not showing up to his own party -tsk, tsk- the onslaught of viral marketing for The Dark Knight (Oscar nod anyone?), or the re-defining of my own brand - INTERN!  Regardless, I will save my fingers from typing and just state that by taking a week off from blogging I have realized that there is a multitude of things I would like to write and only 8 minutes of the work day left.  Instead I will leave you with this, I am breaking the fast and will be back to blogging about all sorts of things including my new frosted glass desk at my internship that I am falling head over jimmy choo's with.

As well - thanks to those who had to listen to my banter and wordy sentences during text or bbm conversation... I'm sorry!  When I don't type it out in some way shape or form, you all tend to get gramatically correct text messages - deal with it!

I'll be about elsewise if anyone needs me ^.^

Just a side note, I'm thinking about changing the title of the blog since I am no longer in the khana...got any suggestions?

Then four days have passed, and you haven't written anything. You open the word processor or thumb through the moleskine. You look at your last written words and try to put yourself back into that state of mind, that place you inhabit when your writing just flows. You can't. You get frustrated and angry with yourself for leaving it so long.

When he's working on a novel, Stephen King writes in excess of 2000 words a day. He won't rest until he's met that target, even if it's 4am and it's humid enough to make the underside of your forearms stick to the table and your glasses slide down your nose. King keeps his writers' muscle well exercised, just like a professional athlete following his training regime day in day out. I bet he never has to go back to that evil place where he's trying to make up for four day's slacking off. Hey, his evil places are right there on the page.

I hope you're not reading this in search of a solution to the four day problem. I have a few tricks that help to get me back in the driving seat, that's all. I think about the story, turning it around in my head. I chew it like a bone. I watch people, pretending that they are characters from my story right there in front of me. What are they doing? What are they saying? How are they behaving? If I could control them, what would I have them do next? I watch television drama and criticise the scriptwriting and the poor characterisation. Then I turn that criticism on myself and the blank space that follows on from the last words I wrote.

Saturday night, the night before last, I finally found a way through a scene that I'm stuck on in The Novel. It's a critical scene, because the behaviour of one of the key characters changes quite dramatically. I know why it changes and how it changes. What I didn't know is how to show that without simply telling the reader in dull narrative description. The inspiration came during a live performance by The Black Keys on Channel 4's Live from Abbey Road. I watched Dan Auerbach playing guitar, holding the plank near to the Marshall speakers to get some feedback. It was the way he did it, with such precision and control in the midst of unbridled noise chaos. It fitted my character perfectly, since I could visualise him doing the same thing. It was a perfect way to end the scene.

Ultimately, I should commit myself to writing every day. Writing something. Doesn't matter what. Keep writing. Keep exercising. And finish the goddam Novel.

Mañana me voy de vacaciones :3!

Aunque dispondré de ordenador me voy a tomar unos días para desconectar y pasarlo bien con mi familia y amigos. Lo más seguro es que el blog esté parado durante unas 3 semanas más o menos, aunque intentaré pasarme a dejaros algún comentario de vez en cuando ^^

I just moved back home, which is a good thing.  A minor inconvenience--no Internet.  I'm working to fix this issue, however.  I just ordered a USB wireless internet grabber thingy (can't remember the full name of it).  Should allow my desktop, which I built in 2004, to grab the internet like it couldn't before.  Not sure when the thing will be here, but I should be able to make do with occasional stops at the library.  Do not fear, Reader--I'll be back to regular schedule in no time.

Thanks for understanding, peeps.  For enjoyment in the meantime, just read some old stuff, or better yet--go outside and escape the Webz.
