So now we will have MG Unicorn and in December will be released MG Sinanju, it would be great if Bandai would made MG or at least 1/100 versions  of other mobile suits from Unicorn novel like Geara-Zulu, Rezel or Delta Plus.  I and many other gunpla fans would be very happy ^^ .

For people who don't know its from an anime series called Gundam, specifically Mobile Suit Gundam: 0079, the original series. I've had this model for about a year now and haven't started so I guess its about time :/ The diorama will probably consist of a scene similar to the box art, when Char invades Jaburo, the undergound Federation base (Sorry, went fanboy there for a second). Also in relation to this I just bought a new airbrush, the Iwata HP-CS, it's double action and has a gravity feed, which is exciting. Anyways hopefully I'll have sketchs and maybe even some pictures soon. More to come

And the price for this awesome gunpla is probably... 7000 yen . Price is quite hight but compared to the Sazabi, Ex-S (both 8000 yen) it's fair, since like you see there are other budget killers ;) .

Ooof. After lots of incidents its finaly completed ! Applying the top coat wasn't so easy as I expected. Once again to achieve a good glossy coat you need to lay down a couple of nice and even wet coats, and with a spray can that was not so easy, plus I spent allot of it. Still in the end I think it looks quite nicely.

Up close you can notice some grain in the finish, which I think it's due to the fact that the black paint coats where painted too heavy and without letting the previous coats dry.

The kit itself is pretty standart for a bandai no grade. The only points of notice are the elbow joints which are only single jointed and as such can only bend 45%, but to compensate the heel joints are great and allow a great range of motion.

I really like Blitz's design and I think the slight changes I made in the tone of the color scheme improve it's looks. Take a look at some more pictures after the jump and tell me what you think !

This equipment may explain the hole in the back of the 00 Gundam. This reminds me of the Gundam Mk II and the G Defenser. No price announced for the HCM-Pro version, while the 1/100 O Riser set is 1680 yen. The Action Base 1 Celestial Being ver. is 735 yen. The deluxe set which comes with the 00 Gundam, O Riser and Action Base 1 Celestial Being ver. is 5250 yen.

Additionally, an MG 1/100 Sinanju Ver. Ka has been announced, and the price is a hefty 7350 yen. All items are slated for a December release. Yet another Zaku Ver. 2.0 variation, the MG 1/100 MS-06R-1A Shin Matsunaga Zaku Ver. 2.0 is going at 4725 yen in November.

Bandai1/72 Messiah Valkyrie Alto Custom VF-25F

That's all folks.

Since the last update the last colors where painted and the black was polished unfortunately some accidents happened that made me repaint some parts. This was quite alot more work than I thought, and the results are not so good. It seems acrylics do not polish very well.

The biggest problem though was the masking or rather the residue left by the tape. Blitz requires a fair bit of detailing to bring out all of its potential, and this of course means, masking will be used. Unfortunately the tape left immense amount of residue on the black parts (that just happen to be the main color) and even though I managed to clean some with some detergent I couldn't remove everything, paint was starting to come off, so I stopped before I had to paint everything again. The result is that some parts had a very nice shine while other where full of marks from the tape. Fortunately the top coat seems to be hiding this further but we'll see when I finish that.

In this picture you can see the best parts, the hips. Even though the left one lost it's putty somehow, (it's seam was nice and gone like the right one, don't know what happened), they have the best finish, that unfortunately I was unable to reproduce in most of the other parts due to the masking residue.

The ankle is the best part of this kit. Even after attaching all the armor around it, it retains an incredible range of movement, plus it's nicely detailed even if most of it is lost under the leg and foot armor.

It's weapons are nice pieces of equipment. The shield had the bad luck of eating allot of primer spit and even after I sanded it and sanded some more it seems it was not perfectly smooth. The top coat once again seems to be doing a good job though.

And a close up. No decent pictures with cool action poses yet, since here it still needed some touch ups (like that little spot on the top of the head), and top coating. Still I think it's very cool looking.

The biggest mistake I made that I believe caused most of my problems was the way I painted the black. For a finish to get glossy you need to put down a couple of good wet coats, but first some mist coats must be applied and allowed to dry and even the wet coats can't be overdone. Of course I did almost the opposite of what I'm saying here and as a result the black turned very soft, so much that even after a couple of months some parts I left on top of paper got glued to it, even careful handling meant I was going to harm the finish and the masking tape made the mess you can see on the shoulders.

It's not all bad of course. I like specially how the shading came out. The interiors of the vents on the chest, for example, where preshaded by airbrush and I think they turned out very nice, plus I like the sligth changes I did to the oob color scheme.

So as I see that the amazing HOno-san's birthday is coming up(YAY!), i plan of burning a hole in my birthday wallet on some Gunpla maybe next weekend when I attempt to find a hobby shop i looked up on Google Maps. I plan on actually getting these stuff:

-A find point Gundam Marker for ACTUAL panel lining instead of cheap sharpie tricks.

-Maybe a Over Flag to go with my GAE(Gundam Avalanche Exia)

-1/100 Mg Shin Musha. My dad will probably be like WHAT 60 dollars!? Since I just got into gunpla, my dad has been checking with his friend to see average prices of 1/144 and 1/100 scales and the price of HG and MGs. I told him originally MGs would be too hard but i guess i can try one since i wanted to try that 5 finger articulation thing.

-1/100 Gold Frame Amatsu(complete version). If i can't get Shin Musha i can go with this. It looks pretty cool with the glossyness and goldiness.

-1/100 MG RX-78-2 Gundam One Year War Version. It could possibly end up my first MG since it's a bit cheaper than Shin Musha and it's still pretty cool. GANDAMU HAMAA!!!

　適度に気楽に塗装。素組みしてから塗装に入るまでのあたりが、果たして完成させる気があるんだろうかというぐらい進まない。なんとなく完成させたいんだけど、一応塗装したいし。

　飽きて未完成のまま次のキットに移るなんていう絶望的な方向性を採用してしまったら大変なのでここは気合いで塗る塗る。

　ところでJAMのベストの6枚目が気になる。

I have allready place order on Rainbow Ten since they have always the lowest price. Now the only thing that is left for me is waiting for it release and postman with my gunpla ^^.

And what next MG gunpla could be,hmm  if Bandai will continue with releasing MG models from C.E. then maybe next one could be Legend or Saviour Gundam. Well it would be nice if it could be true because both of them are on my fav. mecha design list and finally almost all main gundams from Gundam Seed Destiny would be in MG, who knows maybe it will happen... ;)

He's also a hardcore collectors of Gunpla and Figure, as can be seen in the images. Hmmm, I wonder if anyone can reach his level~XD Surround Systems for PS3 and XBOX360.

So, i ordered the exia on Tuesday, and it's now thursday... one day of shipping....two days til delivery?

My second 1/100 scale Gundam. Finally found a job (which probably means less random blogging from now on), and decided to treat myself with a kit. Its also a little training before I get my MG Infinite Justice.

Tuh-dah! Took me 8 hours to finish it, including dinner. I decided to go with Type-F2 cuz the skirt looks nicer, and I don't like the mask. The sandpaper I had was too rough, and I was too lazy to smoothen it anyway, so there are ugly edges everywhere lol. I need advice on filing, is there a special tool for filing? Or a sandpaper is good enough?

I love red Gundams. Saviour Gundam is one of my favourites.

Last weekend we had the second national iaido taikai which serves the purpose of defining the national ranking from where the representatives of Portugal in the European championships will be chosen. Even if it was the second for me and the other 4 Shodans it was pretty much the only one that mattered since in the last ones we still participated in the Mudan category. I am mixed about my performance. In one side and despite alerting me for some problems Senpai Joaquim told me he liked what he saw, but the thing is that my Iaido didn't feel good. I will have to watch the video from my examination to compare, since even though I didn't really fell good with my Iaido it may have been close to the best I have anyway, but I will have to compare with the performance on the examination where it felt really good.

In the matter of model kits, blitz is progressing, slowly, but progressing. Right now he's almost fully painted, I only need to repaint some areas that need fixing after a couple of accidents but nothing much, what will still give a lot of work is finishing the polishing. I'm pretty happy with the finish I managed to get after using some compound to give it more shine but the work it requires is tremendous :P . Other than that I will be snapping all my kits for test fitting and so that they don't just stand in their frames for the next couple of years while I slowly build them and will take that chance to make small snap reviews of the kits themselves. I will slightly change the structure of the blog to accommodate a page for each kit instead of having the articles spread out in the middle of lots of other things that have nothing to do with them.

The anime season is coming to an end soon, which deserves some comments.

Code Geass, is still a top notch series but I don't feel for it as strongly as for the first season, since I believe they are overdoing some things, still it's hands down one of the best mecha series that aired recently.

Macross Frontier is another good mecha series but I feel something is missing there, I'm not sure what but it's simply failing to really compel me to keep watching like Geass or Soul Eater are.

The last series I must talk about is Soul Eater. The best way I can describe this series is that it's full of character. The world is designed very well, with little details like the way the sun and the moon are portraied, adding up considerably to it's charm, plus the character design is superb and the names are even better (Ox Ford for example or Franken Stein, I just love these details :P). The story is just picking up and until now it's nothing that special, plus there are some very annoying episodes (they try to make Excalibur annoying and damn they succeed far too well), but with the amount of character flooding all over the place it's all damn enjoyable to watch. All in all I dare say this is my favorite series of the season and it still has a lot to go, being clocked for 50+ episodes. I hope this good series turns even better.

I've also finished reading the book Daughter of the Blood from Anne Bishop, and have been playing a little of spore (which dissapointed me deeply), but I will talk more about those later. For now I hope I keep some motivation to keep this blog going and don't fall back on the awesome 6 views per month hehe.
