The best part was that today I had the most fun working on studies ever. The right decision made confirmed.

The O'Reilly Factor is one of the funniest shows on TV. It features the brilliant comedian Bill O'Reilly, whose opinions and the way he delivers them are comedy gold. And in this particular show I watched, Bill called a "body language" specialist to identify the gestures Nancy Pelosi used in her speech about the economy crisis yesterday. The specialist, a definite expert in the area, pointed out the way Pelosi scratched parts of her body or moved her hands, and we all know the ONLY reason someone could be doing that is due to being nervous or lying, right?

Being a bit of a body language specialist myself, I decided to give Bill a hand with some other gestures and what they mean:

Arse scratching - this might at first seem like the person merely has an itch that's bothering her on her bottoms or even possibly around (or in) the rectum, but that would be a superficial, wrong analysis. There is no room for trivialities with Bill O'Reilly. It actually means the person had sex in the previous night. If they are scratching the buttocks, they were spanked there during coitus. If they're shoving their hands down their pants and sticking their thumbs up their arses (and making faces, too), it was anal sex. If it was anal sex, it was anti-God, so these people are evil (or left-wing).

Nut scratching - even though our nutsack is covered in hairs, men NEVER scratch it due to an itch. Whenever men scratch their sacks, it can be a series of meaningful things. It denotes insecurity - the man is afraid his sack will fall off if he doesn't scratch it every two seconds. It denotes arrogance - the man thinks he's got the biggest balls in the room. It denotes sexual desire - "hey ladies, just reminding you I have a penis!" (this is anti-god, so this person is evil (or left-wing)). It denotes bad skills at Math - "wait, do I have one or two balls?".

George W. Bush's smile - it means a baby has just been eaten in the world.

Fingers on chin - it means the person is guilty of something and therefore is nervous, thinking of a way out. It never means the person has an itch on the chin, or misused superglue,  or is checking out a girl's ass or is wondering where the fuck he\she is.

Firefox'unuza yüklediğiniz her eklenti onun biraz da olsa daha yavaş çalışmasına sebep olabilir, açılış ve genel performansında yavaşlamalara sebep olabilir. E peki o zaman ne yapmak lazım, her lazım olduklarında kurup sonra yeniden kaldırmak mı lazım bunları? Hayır, değil, gerçi yine Firefox'unuzu yeniden başlatmanız gerekecek ancak size herhangi bir durumda lazım olabilecek eklentileri de kurup sonra Etkisizleştir demek ve duruma göre Etkinleştirip Firefox'u yeniden başlatıp kullanmak bence en etkili çözüm. Tabi yine de siz siz olun sisteminizin durumuna da baktıktan sonra çok fazla eklenti yüklememeye dikkat edin.

DIGSBY

Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter'a bağlanmak, aynı anda MSN, Yahoo, Gtalk, ICQ, Jabber, AIM ve Facebook Chat hesabınızda online olmak, Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, AOL/AIM Mail veya herhangi bir IMAP veya POP mail hesabınızın otomatik kontrol edilmesi ve posta servisinin sayfasına bile gitmeden gelen postaları okundu, spam işaretlemek, silmek gibi işlemleri yapmak istiyorsanız; ki bence istersiniz zira sayması bile yorucu... o zaman Digsby'yi indirip kuruyorsunuz. Bir sürü dertlerinize derman olan bu programın tema desteği var ve öncelikle girip Digsby'ye üye olmanız gerektiği için her bilgisayar, her OS ve her oturumda ayrı ayrı hesap kurulumuyla uğraşmıyorsunuz. PIDGIN

Çok sevdiğim GTK arayüzlü bu yetenekli açık kaynak program sayesinde de Yahoo, MSN, GTalk, ICQ, XMPP, AIM, Facebook Chat ve Skype gibi ağlara bağlanabiliyorsunuz. Ancak Skype'a bağlanması için Skype'ın o an çalışıyor ve sisteme girmiş olması gerekiyor dolayısıyla beğenmedim diyebilirim. Eklediğiniz bu hesapların posta servisi olanlarının da (Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail) postalarını kontrol ediyor ancak Pidgin kadar yetenekli olduğunu söylemek güç. Önceki sürümlerinde kişisel ileti desteklemiyordu ancak yeni sürümünde bu destek var. Çeşitli pluginlerle beraber gelen programda birisi size mesaj  yazmaya başladığı anda uyarılıyorsunuz, hem de "you feel a disturbance in the force" (Tr "güçte bir dalgalanma hissediyorsunuz" - Star Wars) uyarısıyla. Son olarak programda GTK tema desteği de olduğunu belirtip sıradaki güzide programımıza geçelim.

TOR

Tor'un sistematiğinden pek bahsetmeye niyetim yok ancak size internette anonim bir şekilde gezmenizi sağladığını ve herhangi bir ağda sistem yöneticinizin izin vermediği sitelere girme özgürlüğü sağladığını, girdiğiniz bu sitelerin IP'nizi sanki Almanya, Papua Yeni Gine veya Çin'deymişsiniz gibi gördüğünü ve ayarlarını yaptığınız takdirde MSN ve diğer ağlara girebilen üstte bahsettiğim programlarla MSN'in vs yasaklandığı yerlerde de arkadaşlarınızla mesajlaşabileceğinizi söylesem yeterli olur sanıyorum.

Tor kurulumu için (kaynak) öncelikle Vidalia bundle'ını indirip ikisini kuruyoruz. Yani Privoxy veya Torbutton kurmuyoruz. Şu adresten Windows için "Bundle" olanını indirdikten sonra kuruyor ve Firefox'a da Foxy Proxy eklentisini kurup yeniden başlatıyoruz. Başlangıçta Foxy Proxy'nin sorduğu "would you like to configure foxyproxy for use with tor?" -> "yes", "are you using tor with privoxy or without?" -> "without tor", "listening port" -> "9050" ve "dns request through tor" -> "yes" deyip Firefox'u yeniden başlatıyoruz.

Artık Foxy Proxy sayesinde Tor üzerinden internetteki yasaklı sitelere, bulunduğunuz ağda sistem yöneticiniz tarafından yasaklanmış olan sitelere vs girebileceksiniz. Durum çubuğundaki Foxy Proxy simgesine sağ tıklayıp tüm URL'ler için kullan, sadece belirlenmiş şablonlar için kullan ve tor'u tamamen iptal et seçeneklerini seçebilirsiniz. Eğer sadece kimi sitelere girmek için kullanacaksanız belirlenmiş şablonlar için... diyoruz ve seçeneklerı tıkladıktan sonra boş alanda çift tıklıyoruz. Şöyle bir ekran bizi bekliyor:

Example: The NAME of our gestures always begin with "HG" as in "HG_I Love You".  A gesture TRIGGER is what is typed in to make the gesture play. Find a gesture in your inventory, go ahead, any old one you want. Right click on that gesture and choose "Open". See on the left hand side where it says "Trigger"? Whatever is typed in that box is what you type to make the gesture play.

***IMPORTANT: THE GESTURE MUST BE ACTIVATED IN ORDER FOR YOUR TRIGGER TO SET OFF THE ACTUAL GESTURE!!! WHEN YOU HAVE THE GESTURE BOX OPEN, YOU WILL SEE A CHECKBOX THAT SAYS "ACTIVATE". PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT BOX IS CHECKED BEFORE TRYING TO SET OFF THE GESTURE WITH THE TRIGGER.

Description - Simply more info about what this gesture is.

Trigger - Defines which text, when typed into the chat bar, you want to use to get your gesture going. For example, '/wave' could start a gesture where you smile and wave. Triggers are usually kept short for convenience, and they are case-sensitive. Also, triggers can currently only be single words.

Replace with - Underrated and very useful because while not immediately apparent, what this does is take whatever text you put in 'Trigger' and automatically replaces it with the output. For example, it's good for expanding commonly used abbreviations to save you time: type 'brb' and have it come out as 'Be right back!'. Since a big boon about gestures is to ease automation, you can see where this will come in handy! If you want the same text for input and output, simply make the 'Replace with' text the same as the 'Trigger' text.

Shortcut Key - Even faster than a text-based trigger, you can press the F2-F12 keys (but not F1 as that is reserved for this help information) at the top of your keyboard to trigger gestures. You can also add modifiers too, Shift or Ctrl keys, giving you plenty of shortcuts to assign.

Library - This shows the 'four fundamental elements of gestures'. Use them wisely grasshopper, and you will be a gesture master.

Steps - This is the 'timeline' of each part involved in your whole gesture, laid out so you can rearrange them as you please.

Preview shows you what a gesture does, and Save records your hard work. A new gesture, as you may have noticed, already contains some steps. Feel free to go ahead and press Preview to see what happens.

On September 23, John McCain called for a honorary suspension of the presidential campaign. In the ultimate act of symbolism, he cancelled all ads and campaigning. He also grandly bowed out of the first of a series of presidential debates. The idea was that John McCain and Barack Obama could hold hands in symbolic bipartisan unity to create a solution for the collapsing U.S. economy. This is also an effective way to meld the Democrats and Republicans where any unwieldy future blame might be concerned.

About 45 minutes after the McCain campaign made the symbolic gesture, Barack Obama made an emergency appearance, clearly puzzled by John McCain's statement. Senator Obama revealed that John McCain had called him and talked to him about returning to Washington together where they were needed. Obama stated that he had agreed to be available whenever urgently needed, otherwise he would be on his scheduled campaign stops. “Part of the president’s job is to deal with more than one thing at once. In my mind it’s more important than ever.”

McCain doesn't sit on any of the important committees and current negotiations are already in play. Still, several nameless Republican politicians appeared on a news spot telling the media that they were looking to McCain for direction and needed him in Washington. George Bush anticipated a panic without a financial resolution in his speech to the nation last night. McCain wants to prove to Americans that he is a natural leader, even as lawmakers are completing their latest deal before it goes to the House and Senate.

Everyone else involved has weighed in on the debates, which will continue as planned. What will John McCain do? Will he stubbornly cling to his decision to stay firmly esconsced in Washington or will he think better of his leadership and show up at the last minute to take part in the debate? That change in stance could also be painted as a win-win for McCain: the ultimate in sacrifice and effort for his beloved nation as he adds a comment about a simple prayer he made before he went to bed.

Clearly, John McCain hopes this latest grand gesture will propel him to superstar status as he finds his campaign slipping in the polls with less than 50 days before the election. He hopes to create a challenge to Barack Obama, who is clearly leading in opinion polls regarding the economy. So, who is acting politically?

Perhaps John McCain can make a grander statement while he is in Washington. Wednesday in Congress, Senators lamented for hours about the fact that lawmakers had neglected their promise to America concerning earmarks and pork-barrel spending. A number of Republican Senators lamented about 1200 earmarks that the House and Senate were trying to ramrod into law. John McCain could make a far more grand gesture by lending his support against earmarks and drumming up support for yet another political cause with the media. The nation would certainly swoon at his feet. ~ E. Manning

This is a nice story but what is so special about it? Well, if you were a journalist from Romania and you would want to present this as a news you would definitely be amazed by the fact that teachers would get down on the job and prepared the classrooms for their pupils and all that before the beginning of the school year. The same "unheard of" attitude you would have when a pupil would tell you that he came to help because, in the end, he and his classmates are the ones using the space. Interesting enough the auxiliary staff's work that was put to the same cause was not as important as the teacher's so it was very briefly mentioned... What I really like about this story is that finally people managed to think at their community first and then at the people trying to cheat them. (I know this might seem strange but it is actually very hard to do that in Romania nowadays. The way the journalist asked the questions is a clear sigh of this) The fact that the local administration (not a very poor one) could not pay for this type of work raises a serious question mark but between waiting for the mystery to be solved and getting the school ready the community decided on the right option.

Anche il mio modello s'è dato alla macchia.. non potendone più dei miei fast sketches che diventavano Very Very Slowwww Sketches, in preda a dolori muscolari di ogni tipo ha invocato i sindacati. Le uniche pose che posso ormai chiedergli sono: seduto a guardare la TV o -al massimo- addormentato su un cuscino di morbida gommapiuma :D ..che strano mondo.

One week has past since the event happened. The main theme of this event was a simple message which gave me hope, gave me happiness and joy, gave me this deep pump of blood streaming into my heart. The actual statement had a power of change and of revival that other usual words would have not been able ever to create.

There is something that gives meaning to words. It's usually an expression of your face, a mimic or a gesture, that gives an impact to your conversation. What if you are not in view of the person you are talking to? What if you don't know the exact expression of that persons face? What makes you think that what he really says is true?

The apostle Paul said there were three extremely important things in life and those were faith, hope and love. I shall choose the first. I shall also choose the second, and of course the third as well.

I think faith and the trust that faith asks us to give is what gives meaning to the words a person says. And I think it is because of my hope and my love for that person that my faith is increased. The message I received that Sunday night was:

I forgive you.

Italy seals Libya colonial deal

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has signed an agreement to pay Libya $5bn as part of a deal to resolve colonial-era disputes.

Libyan leader Col Muammar Gaddafi said the settlement signed in the city of Benghazi opened the door to partnership between the two states.

Mr Berlusconi said the deal, which sees the money being released over 25 years, ended "40 years of misunderstanding".

Libya was occupied by Italy in 1911 before becoming a colony in the 1930s.

The former Ottoman territory became an independent country in 1951.

This is the first African country to be compensated by a former colonial master.

The question is, she adds: will this latest move set precedents for other former African countries to follow suit?

Coastal motorway

Mr Berlusconi explained that $200m would be paid annually over the next 25 years through investments in infrastructure projects, the main one being a coastal motorway between the Egyptian and Tunisian borders.

As a goodwill gesture, Italy also returned an ancient statue of Venus, the headless "Venus of Cyrene", which had been taken to Rome in colonial times.

The settlement was a "complete and moral acknowledgement of the damage inflicted on Libya by Italy during the colonial era", the Italian prime minister said.

"In this historic document, Italy apologises for its killing, destruction and repression against Libyans during the colonial rule," Col Gaddafi said for his part.

The agreement was signed in the Benghazi palace which once housed the Italian colonial administration, Reuters news agency reports.

Rome and Tripoli have spent years arguing over compensation for the colonial period.

Due to some unfortunate events I ended up having a heavy burden that I was supposed to carry with me for a number of years. Because it was partially my fault I accepted it. At the beginning I was confident I will be able to pull it along however I soon realized that month after month the burden seemed heavier. One evening I had a thought that I should confess to somebody about it. I knew a member of our church community works with more or less similar problems so on Sunday I just asked if I can talk with her. She listened and understood my physical and psychological burden from my few sentences. More than that she promised to look into my case and see if there is any way she can help.

The next day when I talked with her on the phone and she told me she was able to waive my dept, I literary felt like my burden was taken away from me, like I had this dirt on me and it got washed off. It felt somehow similar to the feeling you have after confession and communion in church but different in the same time. It surprised me and remembered me about the meekness we should have to see God's mystery and grace coming so powerful from a regular person. I felt like a hand that just got cleaned and can now clean another hand.

One hand washed the other and both the face goes the saying. Through this experience I learned though that one hand washes the other and both can and should wash the feet of the persons we meet everyday in our life.

Were the devices of art born under a celestial house? I don't know, but I am overcome with mood when applying a given technique. Referential practice – the variety of ways in and through which speakers refer to things in social interaction – involves a range of very different methods. When referring to physical objects or processes in face-to-face interaction, people may choose from a variety of resources, including verbal categories, names, pointing, verbal descriptors, depictive gestures, and prop demonstrations. This raises the question: Under what circumstances do speakers choose particular resources over others? To address this question, this study examines referential practice in a particular kind of face-to-face workplace setting, the service counter of a quick print shop. At the service counter, not only do customers use alternative resources in referring to the document services they want, but these resources appear to be ordered relative to one another in terms of a preference for minimization. In referring to document services, customers first try the most minimal form, the official name, but if that fails or is unknown, customers fall back on more expanded forms of reference, such as pointing or depicting.

To acknowledge a person you pass by, just look into their eyes. Wait. Not exactly their eyes, but the eyebrow line. Don't stare. Just look straight at them. This is most simplest form of acknowledging their existence as fellow human beings, college class-mates, school-mates, colleagues etc.

Well the shocking result of this experiment that I found out was that we are all hostile people. If you have done this experiment like I had asked you to, then you would know exactly why.

As you pass-by the person in the opposite direction as you walk, you will notice he either looks down or looks away. If five people do it, then it could be coincidence, but when all the 500 odd people do it then you know there is something culturally wrong.

Now here is what is even more shocking. It is just not them. I bet even I was unknowingly doing this till now. Every time you pass by your college-mates, school-mates and other such people whom you haven't spoken to yet, you put your head down and look at your shoes while passing them. It is comical and what more very very sly way of blocking any form of interaction with that person. It is like you subconsciously don't want to acknowledge him or talk to him or get to know him. Or her.

At first I thought it was a sign of authoritativeness. While passing a stronger person I would look down, using this gesture as a defense. But nope. I passed a bunch of 8 guys (most of them twice my size, which is like normal, because I weight only 51 kgs (yes lost 3 more kgs in 8 days)) and I looked at them and they all were staring the ground while passing me.
