Oh My God... I never knew this but the scream inducing fingernails down a blackboard noise that is Hayden Panettiere singing has actually happened before, enjoy (if that's in any way appropriate) the following gems from Ms Hayden.

That got me to thinking about... clowns. The hubby thinks I'm afraid of clowns, but I'm not. I don't go running away from them when I see them. I've been to the circus. I've been to carnivals. I'm not afraid to be near one. In fact, I used to work with a gal who dressed up as a clown as her side gig and hosted a kids show this way. So, do you get it? I'm not afraid of them.

I do have issues with clowns, though. Quite frankly, I think they are dishonest. Just look at them! They have expressions painted on their faces that don't necessarily reflect what they are feeling or thinking. Sometimes you see a clown with a sad face but if you get closer, the actual person is smiling. And what about those clowns that are the opposite of that? Happy clowns that are actually quite sad! Those are really, really bad. It's bothersome how deceitful they are. Need an example? Helloooo? The Joker in Batman???

Generally speaking, I also have issues with people who dress up as clowns. While I realize part of their motivation is likely that it makes kids smile and be happy and whatnot, I just don't get it. I am completely turned off by this idea of dressing up like a clown.

Ironically, one song that I used to like playing on the piano, when I still played, was Send in the Clowns. But I digress....

If there are any clowns out there reading this, I expect you to step up and help me understand. Add your comments, you Bozos. Oh! You, too, mimes. Get writing.

5. ..... mengenai penerapan e-learning di Indonesia (mahasiswa) atau merupakan content e-learning dalam penerapan syllabus perkuliahan (dosen) ......

boleh saya simpulkan bahwa apakah postingan itu berarti hanya membicarakan masalah penerapan elearning? . jadi bukan isi pokok elarning itu sendiri ?

Kita tentu sudah tahu apa manfaat dan kegunaan elearning itu. Namun penerapannya di indonesia masih sangat minim. Bahkan, media elearning sendiri kadang menjadi salah kaprah atau beralih fungsi di satu kampus. Namun juga tentunya itu bukan tolak ukur untuk semua kampus. Elearning sendiri tidak akan berhasil mencapai tujuan jika tidak ada kerja sama antara pengajar (dosen, guru) dengan siswa (mahasiswa, pelajar). Jadi jika keduanya tidak bisa bekerja sama elearning tidak akan tercapai.

Disisi lain, perkembangan blog yang dimiliki oleh PyraLab sebelum akhirnya PyraLab diakuisi oleh Google.Com pada akhir tahun 2002 yang lalu, kini sudah menjamur dikalangan siswa maupun pengajar. Dan media blog tersebut sudah dapat dikategorikan sebagai wadah elearning. Akan tetapi, menurut penulis ada beberapa hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam mengembangkan elearning berbasis blog:

1. Elearning berbasis blog harus mempunyai arah dan tujuan yang jelas.

Maksud arah dan tujuan yang jelas disini adalah dilihat dari isi atau kontennya. Seperti hal nya sebuah website. Ada ratusan, bahkan ratusan ribu website yang ada didunia maya ini. Tapi kenapa yang dikenal hanya Google ? Friendster ? Yahoo ??. Karena mereka mempunyai konsep yang jelas !. Google sebagai mesin pencari website atau search engine. Friendster dikenal sebagai Jejaring Sosial atau Network Society yang kemudian muncul-muncul website jejaring-jejaring lainnya seperti myspace, multiply, flickr, dan lain-lain. Lalu Yahoo yang mempunyai konsep awal sebagai web mail. Bahkan, menurut penulis rata-rata pengguna internet diindonesia ketika pertama kali mendaftar sebuah email pasti di Yahoo.

2. Continued

Continued atau pengembangan secara terus untuk menghasilkan sesuatu yang maksimal.

Teknologi yang sudah ada sampai saat ini merupakan evolusi dari teknologi yang sudah ada. Dimulai dari rangkaian mekanik (mesin penghitung), lalu berevolusi ke rangkaian elektronik yang masih berupa analog, kemudian ke mesin digital. Dan Teknologi Komunikasi pun dibarengi dengan berkembangnya teknologi digital.

Melihat dari hal yang saya paparkan diatas tentunya sudah sangatlah jelas. Jika sesuatu hal tidak dikembangkan secara terus menerus. Maka akan semakin terpinggirkan. Bisa dilihat sekarang situs-situs jejaring sosial yang semakin banyak. Tapi dari website-website yang ada tersebut mempunyai soul atau jiwa yang berbeda. Contoh: multiply yang dikenal dengan jejaring tempat menyimpan koleksi musik, flickr dengan koleksi photo, friendster tentunya dengan jejaringnya yang user friendly ketika mengakses profil orang lain, atau youtube dengan video nya yang sukses besar.

Dari hal tersebut bisa dilihat bahwa sebuah website mempunyai soul setelah memfokuskan konsep yang jelas. Hal tersebut juga mengakibatkan seorang user bisa memiliki account disemua website tersebut. Akibatnya persaingan antara website populer yang satu dengan yang lain akan semakin panas. Hal ini bisa dibuktikan dengan makin banyaknya aplikasi yang berkembang didalam website itu sendiri. Jadi tidak heran, jika semua website tersebut rata-rata memiliki fasilitas jaringan antar teman, blog, photo, musik, video, dan lain-lain. Karena sebuah website menginginkan agar user betah singgah di website itu sendiri dan bisa melayani user secara maksimal dengan fitur-fitur tambahan. Nah, fitur-fitur tambahan inilah yang dinamakan pengembangan.

3. Bandwith yang memadai.

Sebenarnya, yang ketiga atau yang terakhir ini adalah yang paling vital. Mengapa ? karena ICT sendiri tidak akan berjalan jika bandwith yang digunakan sangat kecil. Suatu hal yang tragis terhadap monopoli bandwith di negara kita ini dengan bandwithnya yang kecil. Bagaimna mungkin, sebuah ICT akan tercipta atau berhasil jika bandwith yang digunakan sangat kecil.

Jadi kesimpulan yang dapat diambil adalah elearning sendiri harus berkembang secara continue dengan fasilitas yang memadai seperti bandwith sehingga tidak membuat bosan user dan lelah menunggu akses internet yang lama. Selain itu pemanfaatan konten juga harus fokus dalam satu tujuan dan asas tepat guna.

Sampai saat ini mungkin anda sudah tidak asing lagi mendengar kata elearning. Tapi bagaimana dengan mlearning ??. :mrgreen: . Dan itu pasti mau tidak mau elearning pada suatu hari nanti akan menjadi sebuah hal yang biasa ketik didengar telinga kita. Karena sebuah teknologi yang sedang berkembang di luar negeri saat ini adalah mlearning. Mlearning sendiri masih dalam penelitian. seperti Abilene Christian University yang bekerja sama dengan Apple dengan myACU nya, lalu elibera dan masih banyak yang lainnya.

Didalam negeri sendiri baru ada satu universitas yang memiliki mlearning (mobile learning) yaitu ITB dengan Ganesha Mobile Learning (GML) ITB.

Aneh bagi penulis karena sejak awal dan baru kali ini memposting yang agak berbeda dan mempunyai tujuan yang berbeda pula. Mengapa dikatakan aneh ?? Karena sejak awal penulis berusaha tetap eksis dan aktif untuk menulis dalam bidang Gnu/Linux. Bisa dikatakan blog ini adalah representasi " Penerapan Gnu/Linux sebagai model Open Source dalam Sistem Teknologi Informasi ". Jadi bisa juga dapat digunakan sebagai pembelajaran secara elektronik dengan Gnu/Linux dan Open Source sebagai objek dan Teknologi Informasi sebagai medianya.

Jadi, semoga Acer sukses, berhasil dan tetap eksis untuk mengembangkan elearning di Negara Kita Tercinta. Amin..

Mas não era disso que eu queria falar. Fiz estágio no Sebrae aqui em Caldas Novas por 2 anos, sendo 1 ano em meio período e mais 1 ano em período integral. Eu era até bonzinho na coisa, de verdade.

O Sebrae é uma instituição-coringa, pois não tem uma função, só, específica. Há os cursos, eventos, oficinas, viabilização de financiamento e muito mais. Mas uma das atividades principais do mesmo, sem dúvida é a consultoria. Eu, como estagiário somente, nisso, fazia pré-agendamentos de consultorias e pré-atendimento, como pesquisa de material referente ao assunto, levantamento de dados para, posteriormente, o consultor poder fazer um trabalho legal. Seria como eu cruzar a bola pro consultor ir lá e marcar um golaço.

Nessas tais consultorias, você via todo tipo de gente querendo montar todo tipo de coisa. De produtora de filme pornô a fábrica de suporte de cotonete. Por isso, devemos estar preparados pra todo tipo de situação, como:

Situação 1:

- Bom dia, em que posso ajudá-la? (a uma senhora de aproximadamente 70 anos, acompanhada de uma jovem, provavelmente sua neta)

- Hum, eu queria saber o que o Sebrae faz.

Explico detalhadamente sobre o atendimento ao empreendedor e todo aquele discurso empresarial. E pergunto o que ela estaria precisando no momento. E ela diz:

- Ah, é o seguinte, moço, minha neta é muito inteligente, sabe, e dá pra ver que ela é muito bonita, né? Muito esperta, talentosa, tem muito futuro.

- Que bom, tomara que realmente tenha, e no que o Sebrae poderia ajudá-la?

- Então, eu queria que você fizesse incrição dela praquele programa, como que chama? BIG BROTHER BRASIL! Esse mesmo.

Com cara de espanto: - Senhora, não posso te ajudar, pois isso não é atribuição do Sebrae, sugiro que ela vá a uma lan-house e faça a inscrição por lá.

- Meu filho, isso aqui serve pra que? Me diz? Se vocês não sabem nem fazer uma inscrição pro Big Brother, como que atende às empresas?

Pacientemente, para não enfiar uma bifa numa senhora de 70 anos, respondo: - Me desculpe, mas não posso lhe ajudar, mesmo. O gerente não está e não volta hoje, e nem poderá lhe atender.

- Isso é um absurdo, me passa o telefone da ouvidoria do Sebrae pra eu contar que tem um rapaz incompetente e mal-educado aqui.

- Ok, o telefone é xxx-xxxx

- Pode deixar que logo você vai receber uma bronca de seus superiores. Vou no Senac, pra ver se encontro alguém com mais competência por lá.

Registro de atendimento: A Sr. Fulana de tal, demandou uma consultoria com a finalidade de saber informações referentes a inscrição para a neta de 8 anos para o Big Brother Brasil. Não havendo sentido no atendimento, foi informada de que não obteria nenhuma informação do Sebrae. A mesma encaminhará uma reclamação pelo meu mau atendimento. Caldas Novas, xx de xx de 2007.

Situação 2:

Entra uma  senhora de aproximadamente 30 anos, bem-vestida, falando em bom português formal e claramente:

- Bom dia, sou candidata a empreendedora e gostaria de viabilizar um negócio na cidade de Caldas Novas. Gostaria, por favor, de agendar um atendimento para mim.

- Pois não, sente-se aqui, que a gente pode ter uma conversa inicial para eu anotar alguns dados a serem repassados para o consultor.

- Não queria falar com ninguém além do consultor, é muito confidencial.

- Mas eu garanto que as informações dadas a mim, serão enviadas exclusivamente ao consultor, será melhor se ele já tiver informações.

- Hmm, ok. Mas não quero que o atendimento seja aqui. Podemos ir até outra sala, para conversarmos com mais privacidade?

- Tudo bem, vamos para a sala de consultoria.

Vamos para a sala de consultoria normalmente. Ela começa a me mostrar todos os cursos que já fez: Superior em Administração, 3 pós-graduações. Enfim, o currículo da mulher era muito bom. Coisa boa ia sair dali, certeza.

- Mas então, como estava lhe falando, eu tenho um projeto de empresa aqui em Caldas Novas.

- Certo, e qual seria o ramo?

- Ah, de transportes.

- Transportadora? Vans escolares?

- Não, eu quero montar uma NAVE ESPACIAL.

Eu, com o olhar pasmo, ainda tento entender direito, se era sério ou se era brincadeira: - Uma nave espacial?

- Sim, uma nave espacial. Entende agora por que eu não quero que ninguém saiba? As pessoas podem roubar meu projeto.

- Tá, mas você teria esse dinheiro pra poder montar uma nave espacial? (lembrando da NASA, que gasta BILHÕES no desenvolvimento dessas naves, e ainda pasmo)

- Ahh eu tenho um Monza e uma Kitinete aqui na cidade, acho que dá pra começar, né?

- Hammm, talvez, talvez. Pra falar a verdade não entendo muito dessas coisas. (querendo ouvir mais e mais sobre isso, segurando o riso)

- Poisé! Eu tenho o projeto todo pronto! Eu vou ser a astronauta, o Sebrae oferece curso de astronauta? Mas tem que ser rápido!

- Olha, penso que não, e dificilmente você encontrará isso na região.

- Não tem problema! A gente vai aprendendo né? Nem deve ser difícil. Então, eu tava pensando em fazer uma nave e ir até Marte, quem sabe Vênus! Porque na lua já foram, né, nem vai fazer diferença mesmo!

- Claro, claro, Marte me parece interessante. (Aprendi a segurar o riso e ainda por cima dar asa pra cobra. Por isso, segui perguntando até ver onde isso ia dar) Mas você pretende vender mais naves pra outras pessoas?

- Sim, minha nave vai ser um sucesso! Vou começar a vender pra todo mundo.

- E você pretende vender essas naves pra que público?

- Ahhh pra poder comprar minha nave vai ter que ser bem rico né? Acho que só pra aquele povo dos Estados Unidos ou Europa mesmo né? Du-vi-do que algum brasileiro vai ter dinheiro pra isso.

- É, eu também duvido.

- Você é bem atencioso, quando eu fizer a nave, você podia fazer um teste pra ver se podia dirigir minha nave, o que acha?

- Acho legal, fico lisongeado, muito obrigado mesmo! Vou enviar meu currículo pra você.

- Tá bom. Então, que dia posso falar com o consultor?

- Olha, semana que vem ele pode falar com você, vou agendar e te ligo, pode ser?

- Pra mim tá ótimo, mas pelo amor de deus, não vai contar minha idéia pra ninguém, senão vão roubá-la de mim, né?

- Claro, fique tranquila. Suas informações são extremamente confidenciais.

- Então tá, obrigado e bom dia!

Logicamente não marquei nenhuma consultoria. Eis que duas semanas depois, me ligam de Goiânia, dizendo que receberam uma reclamação referente ao meu atendimento. Que eu teria esquecido de marcar uma consultoria, com o nome dela. Pediram pra eu mandar um e-mail com a justificativa para o Setor de Atendimento, com cópia para o Setor de Pessoal, Diretoria e para a pessoa reclamante. Mandei o resumo do atendimento, e foi suficiente:

A senhora Fulana de Tal, possui curso superior e 3 pós-graduações. Ela demanda informações referentes à construção de uma NAVE ESPACIAL. Solicito que me digam o que fazer, pois creio que a mesma possui algum problema mental. Caldas Novas, xx de março de 2007.

Herói para si próprio, porque se presume singular e necessário, e anti-herói para os outros, que apenas o olham como um corpo estranho, irregular, ocasionalmente admirado, quase sempre desprezado, ou, no limite, invejado e odiado pela desfaçatez de transportar consigo o estigma da diferença.

«A mim nada me pode estorvar. Eu sou como uma pedra imóvel. As pedras imóveis são para estorvar...», declara, sempre ostensivo, algures no primeiro acto. Isso pode significar mais posts...ou não. Espero que não. Por que menos posts significa que estou por ai vivendo e curtindo (/malhação) e não enfurnada em casa nerdiando no computador. Mas ok, nerdiar no computador é uma necessidade, como comer, beber, comprar e escutar música, entre outras cozitas mas.

E quais os planos pras férias?

Claro, como toda garota de férias, chamei o melhor amigo pra passar uns dias comigo, vou comprar roupas, cortar o cabelo, ler alguns livros, ir atrás de uns cursos, tentar sair e cair na noite e coisas assim. Ah, e vou pra Buenoooos Aires por uma semana.

Sabe, São Paulo é tão grande e eu tenho um mês de férias e não consigo encontrar um curso bobinho e gostoso pra fazer, tipo, sei lá, de maquiagem, de moda, de estamparia, qualquer coisa. Eu sei, eu sei, tem a Escola São Paulo, e o Senac, mas os cursos costumam durar mais de um mês, ou então são bem carinhos né.

Enfim. Vamos deixar a vida nos levar.

Walden is one of those books I'll carry around with me a lot, sort of like a favorite blankie or something. I have a couple other books like that--there's a good chance you'll find The Call by Oriah Mountain Dreamer and Brenda Ueland's If You Want to Write pretty much every time you snoop in my backpack.

I just started (last night) with a new book. Jaimie brought home Eckart Tolle's The Power of Now (the book he wrote before he met Oprah), and by the intro and first dozen pages, it is definitely a candidate for the 'blankie books.' Jaim's boss gave all the managers a copy yesterday--Jaim is reading Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus, so I jumped her in line to read Tolle. I can't figure out what could have prompted her to buy that Mars and Venus book...

Jaimie discovered this monster fly on the side of our house this afternoon. I've never seen one so huge (that's my index finger in the photo for scale). Anybody know what it is? C'mon you closet entemologists out there...

With poetry, I'm starting at the beginning, or at my beginning with it. Even though I spent my last 2.5 years of college as an English major, for a long time I never really got poetry. I'm not sure why, but somehow poetry just never spoke to me the way that novels or short stories did. I found it . . . old fashioned? boring? I'm not sure. Then one day I ran across this poem in the New Yorker (the April 25, 2005 edition,) and all the sudden something clicked. I loved this poem, and it somehow just put poetry as a whole in perspective for me. It's still probably my favorite poem of all time. After that I started reading contemporary poetry, and have since found that I actually really love the medium.

The local paper in our local community Mt. Juliet is publishing some FINE journalism:

Wednesday night the HIstory Channel ran one of the coolest shows I have seen in a long time.  It was entitled, "Batman Unmasked:  The Psychology of the Dark Knight" 

In fascinating fashion it plumbed the depths of the psychology, philosophy, and mythology of Batman (which, did you know, debuted in 1939?). 

As I somehow stumble through work this afternoon in preparation for viewing "The Dark Knight" tonight, and as I know many of you will be going to see the movie tonight (if you didn't catch the midnight showing) here are a few intriguing thoughts from the history channel's special. 

Each of these are my own summations of some the info from the special.

• Christopher Nolan, director of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight says the key to understanding Batman is to understand Teddy Roosevelt.  Teddy Roosevelt's dad was a wealthy NYC philanthropist.  Teddy's mom and wife died on the same day and after this tragedy he fled to the Dakota wilderness, many think his intention was to kill himself.  He did return from the wilderness and became the NYC Police chief in a time of corruption and turned the city around and made it safe again.  Of course, we know his history as a Rough rider as well. 
• The Joker is the ultimate arch nemesis of Batman.  Batman sees the ills of society and the need to bring reform outside of social norms; but, he still sees the need and good in social norms and society as a whole.  The Joker sees presence of random injustice means there is no justice.  The fact that innocence can be destroyed means there is no innocence.  Therefore your life, pretending these things exist, are a joke.  When someone says your life is a joke, there is a challenge, a physical challenge, a moral challenge, an intellectual challenge.  Therefore the Joker isn't just threatening Batman physically, He's threatening the premise of Batman's existence.  THat's why it's such an epic discussion they are having through their physical confrontations, mental games, punches, and gunshots.  Ultimately it's a philosophical conflict, and one that's not easy to resolve. 

There is much good stuff here.  Batman and his adversaries (Two-face, Joker, Riddler, Penguin, etc) are all victims of tragedy and respond to tragedy differently.  For the villains, it fractures their phsyche and they feel the world owes them something and they are going to take it.  For Batman, his tragedy causes him to work to make sure as few as possible experience the same. 

Is Batman merely working through his childhood issues?  Is he a hero or a mere vigilante? 

There is much humanist thought in this mythology:  We are a product of our choices.  We can choose (to some degree) our destiny.  We have the freedom of response to our circumstances.  There is also much grace and redemption here as well. 

You may have no interest in all this, but thoughts like these greatly enhance my movie viewing experience. 

This special will show again Monday at 9 pm and Tuesday at 1 am.  I recommend it highly.

The Foo Fighters, you see, were supposed to play the Ford Center (in OKC) in January. Then Dave Grohl came down with a wicked case of the flu and they canceled. However, they promised to come back by, and to honor any ticket purchased for that previous show. Dave said, during a little break in the concert, "I'm so grateful that you guys trusted us enough to come back that we're going to play an extra-long show, the best show you've ever seen, to make it up to you guys!" The Foo Fighters proceeded to rock the Ford Center for, oh, about two and a half hours. Nonstop awesomeness, lots of old favorites, and an acoustic segment--just perfect. The most chillingly amazing part was "My Hero," always an emotional song--Dave played it alone, slowly, and the audience sang along, voices swelled up and raw (it was about halfway through the show and we'd been singing the whole time) and warm, and Dave stopped singing and had us do the chorus four or five times and I swear the guy next to me was crying and I almost was, too. It was just so full, man, full of love and admiration and sorrow (because nearly everyone was thinking of Kurt and singing to both him and Dave) and it was the most amazing singalong I've ever heard after more than thirty big arena concerts. They were just awesome. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
