In this case the word is wordpress. I thought I try to keep a blog on things thats happening around me whether it be local, state, national, international, or even universal. Sometimes I may say things just to play devils advocate, sometimes I may say something downright stupid and sometimes I may even make sense. Most likely I will be talking to myself since I cannot see anyone visiting my pages. Because of this all I can say is - so be it.

Aku tau Indosiar udah lama menayangkan sinetron2x yang bergaya India. I hate that ! Memang susah sih membuat karya yang original. Tapi paling enggak jangan menjiplak abis2xan lah. If you ever watch one of the Indosiar's sinetron then you'll know what I mean.

Man, I don't know what Indosiar's people thinking. Are you guys want to be the official Bollywood style TV channel or what ? But if you like Bollywood movies that much then I'm sure you'll like it.

Parahnya lagi saking seringnya aku bisa melakukannya tanpa sadar, langsung komentar begitu aja :) so this time aku mencoba menghentikan kebiasaan buruk itu dengan membawanya ke blog ini. So Daily Comment category is born. At least with this I won't anoy everyone. So, if you don't like it then plase don't read this category :) and if you enjoy it please comment for my comment :)

It's a bit embarrassing. On the other hand, we seem to have enjoyed ourselves SO MUCH that we just didn't have the time to write an update. It is certainly not because there are no news.

The weblog had been titled "Going to Scotland", and when we created it we didn't think for a minute that we would return to Germany. And now we're returning there, and only after 11 months. There are a few reasons, but not liking it here is none of them. This is a great country, and the people are very nice as well; but some things that have happened draw us back to our families again.

This time we won't have a caravan. And I also wouldn't want to tow one again, these things are an annoyance.. it was funny for the one time, but I don't need to repeat the experience... =)

No, this time we will try to stuff everything in a car. It should work fine. And then we will have to find jobs and a home again in Deutschland.

As friends have pointed out, this could have been done much easier and without the detour via Edinburgh, but neither Anu nor I regret coming here for a second. It certainly was an experience to live and work in a foreign country; it widens the individual reality-tunnel even further.

So, what's up next? I honestly don't know just now, but I'll hopefully find out later this year.

Fringe festival, festival of spirituality & peace, book festival, the you-name-it-it's-there festival...

...and neither Anu nor me have made it to a single show yet. True, we went to the Meadows on Fringe Sunday to get a glimpse on what's going on, we walked amidst the masses of people up and down the royal mile, chatted with people trying to get us interested in specific shows and I spend nearly all of my lunch breaks looking at street performers at the moment.

But we haven't bought a single ticket yet. For various reasons... we would be interested in seeing something, but then we fear that we wouldn't get the jokes. If they were about cultural or political issues or something like that we'd most certainly miss them, and if the comedian was from Manchester or Glasgow we wouldn't understand a single word.

There is only one show I'd really like to see, and that is Mr Henry Rollins; he'll do a show on the next four evenings, starting at 23:15. So, with any luck I'd be in bed at, say 1:30 in the morning, and would have to get up at 6:30. Not a big deal, agreed, but the show is also priced at 15 pound, and to get home in a timely fashion I'd have to call a cab - so make that 30 pound all in all.

And that's quite a lot of money for an hour of entertainment. Maybe we should go see Fuerzabruta - at least there is not a lot of spoken word there. But the ticket is even higher - 25 pound per person, which might be ok since they really brought a lot of equipment; it's still a lot of money.

Any recommendations for today or tomorrow?

Anu has a bit of a flu and speaks funny. As for me, I actually enjoy working at the new company; the people there are great, and I really get along with them.

So what are we up to? Nothing much for today, probably watching another episode of Doctor Who and trying to cure Anu. And, of course, being happy.

If I had to pick something that really made my day today, it would be the realization that the gardens close to Princes Street are actually my canteen, the place where I go to have lunch. Amongst flowering trees, in the sun, with a view at the castle. Come on, be jealous! (I would be)

Today I did have a job interview at a very nicely looking small company. It went well, if I am right, and maybe I'll have a second interview soon. Two interviews seem kind of normal here - one to see whether the technical questions can be answered, the second to see whether the person would fit in with the company.

I don't want to sound too excited yet, but this would be actually a cool place to work.

Oh, and we had fun at the office of Lothian Buses; we were talking to somebody and all of a sudden, in the middle of doing something, he went ou, put on his jacket and left without saying a word. Anu asked "Did he just leave?", and another, older man replied (slightly annoyed) that indeed, he had left.

And then he charged Anu 50 pound for her ticket, which should cost 35 pound. "Oh yes, we always take more. You get it back when you cancel the ticket.", he said. Anu made a joke, asking whether she'd get interest in that, and he got annoyed even more.

Strange habits. I like it.

We didn't do much so far today. And we probably won't be doing anything special later on except cooking and watching TV or a DVD.

Since this has been the first weekend where we didn't have any appointment or urgent thing to do, we felt like slacking, and we did. We just went out to buy some food (the fact that Easter Monday is a holiday elsewhere doesn't really bother anyone over here) and walked a bit on Leith Walk, a long street running from Princes Street to our home. It's filled with cafes, pubs and shops, and we bought a few things at a chinese supermarket as well. Lovely soy sauce, for example.

I've also applied for a few more jobs; I just hope I'll find something suitable soon.Or shall I say: some employer finds me to be suitable soon?

Lazy Sunday, indeed!

We sat around for most of the time and enjoyed being online again. I spent hours to get the wireless card to work with Linux, and we also had some Fish&Chips from a nearby shop.

We are very happy here. And I hope I'll have a job by the end of this week.

So much time without an entry. But we are so incredibly busy! And now, with my new job it's even worse. But I can't really complain. Things are going quite well for us. My ex-hubby and I have finally remembered to get divorced. Funnily enough, we are already such good friends again that we almost forgot! The fact that he and my love have become quite close friends is also very nice. Weird, but nice.
But then, few things are normal in my life.
We've finally quit all our contracts, khae got his resume (a very good one) and we are getting certified translations now and will start applications at the beginning of December.
We've moved our new trailer to khae's brother where it can stand under a roof and I can leisurly fix some things in it and implement the shelves and stuff I need.
We've sold many books via amazon and have thrown away a lot of junk and started sorting out our stuff. Only few of it will go with us to Scotland.
Merlin, the brave cat, has endured all vaccinations and tests and his passport is bigger than mine!

We are not there yet, but not here anymore either. Strange. We just can't wait to set out on the road, with all our belongings in the van and the trailer. And we are still hoping to find a job where we can work together, maybe we'll find a campsite-owner who wants to retire? Who knows.

Only the thought now that it isn't much longer is what keeps us upright. Germany is really going down the drain in every possible aspect.

Today was a beautiful, sunny and warm autum day and we used it to built a trailer coupling into our car.

We met khae's colleague Kerstin and her husband and two girls where they live on the countryside, and while Kerstin and khae went cooking, me and her husband Michael built in the trailer coupling into our car. It didn't have one, but obviously we'll need one if we are to tow a caravan.

We managed quite well, it took about 4 hours and I learned quite a bit about car electricity and how to take away the rear bumper.
We had a very good lunch and later a coffe in the sun and I took some measurements for some changes I plan inside the caravan.

They will probably visit us too once we are in Scotland, so in addition we've made new friends, which is wonderful.

So all in all it's been a really nice day and we're one step closer to moving.

Before we go any further, I really have to tell the first actual thing we did as a preparation for our move. We had to bring our poor cat Merlin to the vet. He has to get all vaccinations, a microchip and European Vet Passport (complete with name, description, picture, chip-no. and vaccination proof)!
The chip was implanted under his skin and now we keep calling him 'Cybercat'. He can be traced now. Khae wanted to find out which kinda chip it is, but they didn't know!
So now my cat has a passport that's bigger than mine! And he has another vaccination date and a scapies test on his schedule. Amazing! But this saves him 6 months of quarantine, which he wouldn't mentally survive. He's a sensible cat.

Today we had a look at the caravan of a friendly coworker of mine. The caravan is a bit old, ye, but she'd sell it for a really low price. Anu and me will very likely buy it, if it survives their next holiday.

Although I never really liked caravans - I preferred to sleep in a tent or just on the flat earth with no walls around me - it seems like a good idea. Anu originally had the idea to take a caravan to Scotland; so that if we do not find a suitable house right when we arrive we're a bit more flexible, and that's a brilliant idea.

So we'll buy it. And then we make some photos and post them here.

And we probably will paint the thing, it really looks like something my granddad would have liked.
